Saratov State Medical. Saratov State Medical University named after V.I. Razumovsky

After half a century of fierce struggle of the Saratov public with officials of the Ministry of Education, who, not without reason, feared opening another hotbed of radical sentiments among young people in the southeastern borders of the empire, the State Duma in early June 1909, as a result of heated debates, made a positive decision. Contemporary events M.F. Volkov in his memoirs quotes the words of P.A. Stolypin, who was in those years the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, addressed the next deputation from the Saratov public: university ... ”On June 10, 1909, the Law on the establishment of the University in Saratov, the tenth and last Imperial Nicholas University, was signed. All-Russian autocrat Nicholas II, being on the imperial yacht "Shtandart", put his visa on the law: "To be this way." On October 6 of the same year, after a prayer service and a religious procession, the Saratov people laid a stone at the construction site of future educational buildings. Thus began the history of the university, which was opened as part of one medical faculty (now - Saratov State University named after N.G. Chernyshevsky), and with it the university period in the history of Saratov itself. but also a national holiday of Russian higher science. " Act grand opening University took place on December 6, 1909, on the day of the name day of Nicholas II. All Russian universities, headed by the Academy of Sciences, and many foreign universities - Cambridge, London, Paris, Leon, Vienna, Strasbourg, Naples - responded to this event. More than 800 welcome telegrams and addresses were received on this day. For the new university, a small building of a female paramedic school was assigned, which was completely unsuitable for teaching. Under the direction of the city architect A.M. Salko, a plan was drawn up for the necessary alterations, which gave four classroom, an auditorium, two laboratories. The first rector of Nikolaev University was a talented surgeon, a prominent public figure, an ardent advocate of women's medical education in Russia, Professor Vasily Ivanovich Razumovsky, an exceptional personality in all respects. Already at the age of twenty-seven he achieved the degree of doctor of medical sciences, and at forty-two he was promoted to full state councilor. The staff of the medical university was recruited very skillfully, prominent figures in medicine were involved in teaching. Professors of Kazan University I.A. Chuevsky - at the Department of Physiology (who also became the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine); V.V. Worms - at the Department of Physiological Chemistry (and took over as Vice-Rector); AND I. Gordyagin - at the Department of Botany; assistant professors of Moscow University V.D. Zernov - at the Department of Physics, B.I. Birukov - in the Department of Zoology with Comparative Anatomy and Parasitology and assistant professor of Novorossiysk University N.G. Stadnitsky, the founder of the Saratov morphological school - in the department of normal anatomy. The university has seven departments: Anatomy, Physiology, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Surgery, Botany. In 1909, 92 students and 14 free listeners entered the 1st year of the Medical Faculty of Saratov University. Thanks to the exceptional energy of V.I. Razumovsky, on September 23, systematic lectures began on all subjects of the 1st year (normal anatomy, general physiology with histology, physics, chemistry and other disciplines). The construction of the university complex was entrusted to the director of the Kazan Art School K.L. Mufke, who by that time already had a rich construction practice and was distinguished by perfect honesty. Already in the fall of 1909, he began designing, and in the spring of 1910, construction work began. The ceremonial opening of the monument to the first rector of the university, Professor V.I. Building of Experimental Medicine, building Institute of Physics and in 1913 the fourth - the Anatomical Institute. On its pediment is still under the bas-relief image of a skull made by the sculptor V.K. Fedorov, the inscription "Anatomical Institute" has been preserved. Simultaneously with the construction of educational buildings on Moscow Square, clinics for the university in Agafonovsky village were designed. scientific Library at the university, its first head was I.A. Busse. The collection of the library fund began from the acquired and donated books, the number of which was steadily and rapidly increasing from year to year. V.P. himself Razumovsky donated 526 volumes of valuable books to the library, mainly on surgery. A great contribution was made by the actual privy councilor, state secretary M.N. Galkin-Vraskoy, who donated over 8000 volumes to the library. In accordance with the charter, in 1913 the formation of all 30 departments of theoretical and clinical profiles for the training of doctors was completed. The main clinical base of the university, and later the medical institute, became the Clinical City, the construction of which began in 1912, as the rector of the university. V.P. Razumovsky always defended the interests of students. In February 1911, a strike of solidarity with workers broke out among the students of Saratov University. The classrooms were empty, classes were disrupted. To combat these riots, two ministries united - education and internal affairs. It was decided that the students who were dismissed from the university were immediately conscripted into the army. Knowing this, the rector of the university V.I. Razumovsky did not fire a single student. The reactionary tsarist minister of education L.A. Kasso disliked progressive convictions, inflexibility, adherence to the principle of the rector, so in 1912 he appointed an early re-election of the university board. Razumovsky - I.A. Chuevsky, but the Minister of Education did not approve this candidacy. According to the existing charter of the university, in this situation, the former rector remained the acting head of the faculty. But Casso still dismissed B.I. Razumovsky from the performance of the duties of the rector and entrusted them to the 43-year-old professor N.G. Stadnitsky, who held this position from October 1912 to January 1914. At the same time he was awarded the rank of State Councilor. Razumovsky, who by that time had received the title of Honored Professor, moved to teaching, and after February revolution became the chief surgeon of the Caucasian Front, where he did everything to improve surgical care for the wounded. In 1920, he was given the opportunity to return to Saratov, where he headed the Department of General Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine of the University. Until May 1918, the University was headed by P.P. Zabolotnov. During his rector's office, the construction of a surgical building was in full swing, a project for a clinic for ear, throat and nose diseases in the Clinical town on the outskirts of the city was completed. In the fall of 1918, V.D. Zernov. From March 1921 to January 1923, the university was headed by V.V. Golubev, after whom the leadership of the university passed to Sergei Romanovich Mirotvortsev. He accepted the university in an extremely deserted and uncomfortable state: the war, revolution, economic devastation brought the university to the limit of impoverishment, although it consisted of about 200 teachers and more than 4,000 students. the needs of the university library: the library fund, which had not been replenished for some time, began to grow rapidly. His most important personal achievement is the restoration of university publishing activity: in 1923, the publication of "Scientific Notes of the University of Saratov" began. clinics for ear, nose and throat diseases and nervous diseases. Now they belong to the Clinical Hospital of the Medical University, named after S.R. Mirotvortsev, who remained as rector until 1928 and became the last medical rector in the history of the classic Saratov University. Under the next, eighth, rector in 1930, the medical faculty of Saratov University was transformed into an independent higher educational institution - medical institute with three faculties: treatment-and-prophylactic, sanitary and hygienic, maternity and infant protection. By 1935, it had 1600 students. Then the position of rector was occupied by prominent scientists and brilliant teachers: A.K. Martynov, K.Ya. Shkhvatsabay, I.A. Arnoldov, K.A. Shmelev, A.L. Yaroslavtsev, E.E. Samoilov, V.N. Abramenko, P.L. Rappoport, I.T. Bogoslovsky, G.M. Zhelyabovsky, I.M. Popovyan, B.A. Nikitin, N.R. Ivanov, V.F. Kirichuk, V.I. Goremykin, P.V. Outstanding figures of medical science and practical health care have grown up from among the graduates of the medical faculty of Saratov University: the laureate of the Lenin and State Prizes, Academician A.N. Bakulev, full members of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences A.A. Minkh, M.A. Kassirsky, N.N. Sirotinin, F.G. Uglov, Corresponding Members of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences I.V. Domaradskiy, E.A. Berezov, K.N. Tretyakov, N.S. Kislyak, P.R. Ivanov and others. The increased danger of a new war in the late 1930s sharply increased the need for military doctors, which could not be satisfied by the only university that trained them - the Military Medical Academy in Leningrad. By decision of the Government of the USSR, military medical faculties were created at three medical institutes, including Saratov, with the head of V.I. Gerasimenko. Soon after the start of the war, he left for the front, and V.A. Makarov. The faculty voluntarily admitted persons who graduated from three courses of a medical university, the study time was two years. The Military Medical Faculty at the Saratov Medical Institute honorably fulfilled its task during the Great Patriotic War. During its existence (1939 -1943) nine 1336 military doctors received diplomas. Most of the university graduates took part in the battles. During the war years, many officers of the medical service received invaluable front-line experience and became prominent organizers of military health care. By the 25th anniversary of the Victory, an obelisk was erected on the territory of the institute in memory of those who did not return from the war. In the 1940s - 1950s, a number of new departments were created on the basis of the institute: children's infectious diseases, propedeutics of childhood diseases, faculty pediatrics , hospital pediatrics, hospital surgery and hospital therapy of the pediatric faculty. Over the years of his leadership, 95 doctors and more than 600 candidates of medical sciences have been trained within the walls of the university, 32 new departments have been opened. The number of students increased from 3000 to 4800 people: 25 interregional and regional centers of specialized medical care were opened on the basis of clinics. In 1961, a faculty of advanced training for doctors was opened at the institute; in 1965 - the newly formed military medical faculty. In 1967, a building was built, in which the department of social hygiene and organization of health care, an allergological center and a center for recording medical records were located. In 1968, for the first time in the country, the department and clinic of neurosurgery - the Republican Neurosurgical center. 1976 Saratov Medical Institute awarded the order Labor Red Banner. The pathological building was opened in 1982, it housed the corresponding department of the pediatric faculty. In 1984, the construction of another building for the clinic and the department of anesthesiology and resuscitation was completed: the construction of an advisory polyclinic began. In 1988, the dental faculty was opened. In 1993, the Saratov Medical Institute was reorganized. In 1997, the faculty of pre-university training was created: the first admission of students to the department "Nursing" at the medical faculty was carried out. From 2002 to March 2010, the university was headed by a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor P.V. Lump. During the years of his rector's office, SSMU underwent dramatic changes. In 2002, a medical and preventive faculty was created. In 2003, the first admission of students to the Faculty of Pharmacy was carried out. At the same time, by the decision of the Independent Public Council, Saratov State Medical University was awarded the gold medal "100 Best Russian Universities", and the rector P.V. Glybochko was awarded the honorary badge "Rector of the Year". In 2006, thanks to the efforts of the rector, the Research Institute of Clinical and Fundamental Uronephrology was organized. Now it is possible to resume kidney transplant operations. Since that time, related kidney transplants have been successfully performed for patients with end-stage renal failure. At the same time, training began on the program of secondary vocational education in the specialties "pharmacy", "orthopedic dentistry" and "preventive medicine". In 2007, a new direction of training in the specialty "Clinical Psychology" was opened. June 10, 2009 Saratov State medical University named after V.I. Razumovsky celebrated his 100th anniversary.
