Did you know that the air of almost any urban space contains book and concrete dust, exhaust gases, bacteria and viruses, skin and hair particles, exhaust gases and dust mites? All of this has a detrimental effect on your health.

Surprisingly enough, indoor air is much more polluted than outside! It is no coincidence that 90% of respiratory infections occur indoors.

Consider the situation in the apartment. Dirt and dust penetrate the room and are absorbed by walls, curtains, wallpaper, and upholstered furniture. The porous structure of wood, fiberglass, materials from which the ceiling, walls and floor of premises are made are an excellent place for the accumulation of harmful substances.

Our bedrooms are ideal conditions for dust mites that feed on particles of the skin - the strongest allergen.

Detergents leave toxic fumes in the air, thousands of times higher than their concentration in the open air. Mold and mildew are present in the air of any room, as they are found everywhere: in damp places on ceilings, carpets, walls, cooling and heating systems, and so on.

How can we rid the air we breathe of all these harmful pollutants?

Here are some actionable tips to help you achieve maximum air purity in any room.

    1. Try to eliminate sources of air pollution and keep the room clean

To keep the air clean, do not allow dust accumulation (including in hard-to-reach places). Studies have shown that 12 grams of dust contains about 42 thousand dust mites. Their waste scatters in the air and leads to irritation of the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose, causing various infections and asthma attacks.

Also try to get rid of all kinds of "dust collectors": soft toys, shaggy carpets, pillows. If there are such things in your apartment, then you should regularly knock them out of dust.

    2. Organize good ventilation of the room

Be sure to ventilate the rooms every day. Clean air is especially important for a good sleep - it is better to cover yourself with a warmer blanket, but fall asleep with the window open.

Even the best ventilation system can only renew a third of the air volume.

    3. Use a purifier and humidifier

In order to achieve truly clean air in an apartment or office, you cannot do without its direct purification and humidification.

Insufficiently humidified air adversely affects the skin, furniture, indoor plants and human mucous membranes, making them more susceptible to infections.

The purifier passes air through several filters. The presence of the HEPA filter is of particular importance - it allows you to cope with fine dust floating in the air and penetrating the respiratory tract.

The air purifier is designed to "nail" all harmful substances and air pollution to the floor and prevent them from entering the nose and bronchi.

How to keep the air clean?

Remember, clean indoor air is the key to the health and well-being of your family. And an excellent solution for maintaining an environmentally friendly environment in the house is.

This cleaning system, equipped with a HEPA filter, will allow you to carry out the most effective cleaning of premises and to clean and humidify the air every day!

Rainbow is the only vacuum cleaner in the world that is an air cleaner. This is confirmed by the AHAM certificate - an international organization that evaluates and licenses industrial air purifiers.

It cleans and humidifies the air both during cleaning and at low speeds - you just need to turn on the humidification and purification function and leave the vacuum cleaner in the room.

Clean air with Rainbow is easy and efficient.

Breathe clean air - and be healthy!

Throughout its existence, mankind has had an impact on the environment, and this impact has not always been positive. At first, the negative influence of man on nature was not particularly noticeable, but with the growth of civilization and the development of technological progress, the role of the anthropogenic factor in environmental pollution began to rapidly increase.

Today, industrial enterprises, cars, smoking dumps of household waste emit a large amount of toxic substances into the atmosphere. The number of these harmful emissions is constantly increasing, so the problem of maintaining clean air is becoming more acute.

The first major step towards improving the environmental situation on a global scale was the Kyoto Protocol, which provides for large restrictions on harmful emissions into the atmosphere on a global scale. This protocol has been signed by 192 countries, including Russia.

The Kyoto Protocol has annex B, countries that have signed this annex undertake not to exceed certain limits on emissions of toxic and greenhouse gases. If any of the countries in Annex B does not use the limits given to it in full, then it has the right to sell them as unused quotas. Also, this protocol provides for a reduction in the use of hydrocarbon raw materials with its gradual replacement with biofuels. This is a very timely agreement, environmentalists' forecasts indicate that excessive burning of hydrocarbons may lead to the fact that in 50-70 years there will be no practically healthy people on the earth.

Clean air is the key to longevity; the main condition for increasing human life expectancy is solving the problem of atmospheric air pollution. Scientists from Hong Kong have shown on the basis of statistical data that in the 12 years that have passed since the tightening of requirements for the reduction of sulfur oxides in car exhaust emissions, the average life expectancy has increased by 2 years.

Forests play an especially important role in preserving clean atmospheric air, it is not for nothing that they are called the lungs of the planet. They are the main source of oxygen, so it is necessary to fight uncontrolled deforestation, to protect them from destruction. Today, rainforests are in great danger. Equatorial rainforest is shrinking by 23 hectares every minute.

Burning dumps of household and construction waste make a big contribution to air pollution; when they burn, they emit toxic substances hazardous to health. For example, when wood chipboards burn, phenol, formaldehyde and other harmful components are released. In order to limit this source of pollution as much as possible, it is necessary to fight unauthorized landfills, a ban on burning household waste within the city is also necessary, and a ban on burning fallen leaves will not be superfluous. One of the main ways to solve this problem is the construction of modern waste processing plants.

One third of the total air pollution is accounted for by road transport. The number of cars is constantly increasing, they burn a huge amount of fuel, and many harmful substances enter the environment with exhaust gases. Currently, many experimental models of electric and solar-powered vehicles are being developed, but most of these models are still far from perfect and they cannot yet play a significant role in solving the problem of atmospheric pollution. At this stage, a more effective method is the transition to new fuel standards with fewer harmful substances in the exhaust.

Another significant step in solving the problem of reducing harmful emissions into the atmosphere is the modernization of production using a closed cycle and the introduction of the principle of waste-free production, and where this is impossible for some reason, the construction of a new type of treatment facilities.

Keeping clean air is one of the priority tasks of our time, if we can do it now, our descendants will be grateful to us.

You don't have to volunteer to the ends of the earth to help save the planet. We love distant countries, support agritourism, respect the work of volunteers, but do not forget how much we can do to protect the environment without leaving our own home, city or country.

Of course, while in our country forests are being cut down for cottage settlements and animals listed in the Red Book are being shot from helicopters, it is ridiculous to talk seriously about sorting garbage, saving energy, or because old equipment cannot simply be taken to the trash heap, because the alloys used in its production and metals will decompose for millions of years. And besides, in Russia you will be knocked off your feet while you find a point for receiving glass containers or recycling batteries, which in Europe are at every supermarket.

And yet we will have to start with ourselves - there is no other way to save the planet. Here are some practical tips to help us make the lives of our children and grandchildren just a little bit better. And there, you see, people around you will take over your habits. Singapore is still far away, but the first step has already been taken.

    ECONOMY CLASS

    WATER

    1

    Take a shower

By changing the habit of basking in the bathroom and getting under the shower, you will dramatically reduce your water consumption (up to 100 liters per day). If you turn off the water while soaping your hair, you will save another 50. Use the dishwasher. According to the expert company Intertek, where the machine needs 6.5 liters of water, when you wash the dishes by hand, you use all 49.

    2

    Pause

Leaving the water on while you brush your teeth is wasting nearly 500 liters of water a month. For those who like to shave to the "water accompaniment", this also applies.

    3

    Keep your plumbing tidy

A current tap can "cost" 20 liters of water per day, and poor tank insulation - up to 400 liters!

    4

    Don't ignore flyers in hotels

How many times have you seen a sign in your room's bathroom urging you to think twice about changing your towels to save water? Follow the call! Since 2010, Hilton hotels have been able to save enough water for 1,000 Olympic swimming pools.

    5. Energy resources

TV, DVD-player, computer, even in sleep mode, waste energy. Pedantic Germans have calculated that in Germany alone, this way, the amount of energy consumed per week corresponds to the production of two power plants in the same week. Therefore, either be more careful and do not forget to press the Off button, or connect the devices to the sockets with timers, which themselves regulate the supply of electricity.

    6

    Unplug the charger

Most chargers for phones, tablets, cameras, electronic toys consume energy even when the device is not connected to them - on average 5 W per hour, that is, 40 kW per year.

    7

    Use natural light

This is the easiest way to save energy. Often we deprive ourselves of sunlight by covering our windows with too thick curtains, blocking furniture or painting the walls in a color that absorbs light.

    8

    Add fixtures

Chandeliers, floor lamps, table lamps, sconces ... - it has been proven that the more light sources in the house, the more likely it is that you will turn on only those lamps that you really need at that moment.

    9

    Dress warmly at home

If you are cold, put on a sweater, and then think about whether to turn on the heater. An increase in the room temperature by just 1 ° C increases energy consumption by up to 10%.

    10

    Don't skimp on household appliances

An old refrigerator needs twice as much electricity as a modern, energy efficient one. When buying household appliances, pay attention to the marking: the inscription "A ++" indicates that the device consumes a minimum of electricity. Defrost your refrigerator regularly: the more ice, the more energy it needs.

    11

    Arrange a big wash

An energy efficient washing machine saves both electricity and water. Don't run it for one pair of jeans (or at least wash them in the express mode or with less water). And remember, the most sustainable way to dry your laundry is with a string. Yes, the way they do it in Naples.

    FOREST

    12

    Master internet banking

By paying your bills online, you will not only save time, but also save the tree. And if instead of paper receipts, statements, printouts you start using electronic ones, the number of saved trees will be in the thousands.

    13

    Don't print letters

Experts estimate that approximately 700 billion unnecessary pages are printed in Europe every year. Try to print only those documents that you really need. And, if possible, use both sides of the sheet.

    14

    Save on packaging

Everyone loves to receive beautifully packaged gifts. But in most cases, you can not violently tear the paper, but carefully unfold the gift and reuse the packaging.

    15

    Plant a tree

For the next New Year, buy a small Christmas tree in a pot (from 149 rubles), dress it up, water it for several months, and plant it in the garden in the spring.

    16

    Leave the world green

There is an alternative to wooden coffins: rattan coffins. And you can even arrange a funeral using only a shroud. Coffins made of wood-based panels containing formaldehyde, when burned, emit poisonous gases, and while in the ground, they harm the ecological system - the same formaldehyde and glue get into groundwater. Certified coffins for sustainable incineration already exist, and in some countries, green burials are being carried out in the forest or meadow.

    Food and table

    17

    Drink Arabica

The plantations of the Arabian coffee tree (Arabica coffee) growing in the shade, according to research, are home to about 150 species of birds. If coffee trees are grown in the bright sun, the number of its inhabitants is reduced to 20-50 species. Due to the demand for cheap coffee, many producers have switched to growing "sunny" varieties, for which they use more pesticides and fertilizers. You can protect birds and also reduce the use of chemicals by opting for Arabica.

    18

Be a vegetarian once a week

To get 500 g of meat, you need about 10,000 liters of water: 20 times more than for the production of potatoes of the same weight. In addition, animals such as cows produce huge amounts of methane, the No. 2 gas on the list of greenhouse gases.

    19

Buy fish with the MSC certification

MSC certification benefits fishermen who operate legally. The certification program itself aims to recognize sustainable fishing.

    20

    Support the domestic manufacturer

The goods from the supermarket have come a long way to get closer to you. To reduce the carbon footprint of all trucks, ships, and planes that deliver goods to your store, buy more local produce. And you will help the farmers at the same time.

    21

    Do not preheat the oven

Cookbooks tell you to preheat the oven. This requirement can often be ignored. If you are not going to bake pies, turn on the oven when you put the dish in it. And unnecessary manipulations with the oven door are not good even for baked goods - so always first evaluate the degree of doneness through the glass.

    22

    Discard plastic bags

The world uses from 500 million to 1 billion plastic bags annually. There is no reason not to believe studies that claim that small particles of polyethylene trapped in the ocean are already beginning to destroy the food chain! When shopping, take a canvas bag with you.

    Waste and garbage

    23

    Hand over the bottles

In general, this simple procedure reduces air pollution by 20% and halves water pollution. You can find out where the reception points are located on the website.

    24

Do not throw away used batteries

Batteries contain a variety of metals, including mercury, lead, cadmium, nickel, copper, zinc, magnesium and lithium. If we throw them away with ordinary rubbish, they all end up in the soil. One battery pollutes 20 m² of land. Place a trash can at home for batteries, and when it is full, hand them over, for example, to the Timiryazev Museum.

    25

    Dispose of equipment

In your pursuit of technical innovations, do not forget to properly dispose of obsolete models. If, for example, you cannot sell your old phone, hand it over to a specialized collection point.

    26

    Go digital

Don't buy movies on DVDs: discs are made of plastic, which is not easily biodegradable. But there is no need to give up entertainment at all: you can legally watch a movie in good quality on the Internet. ITunes and many Internet cinemas will help you.

    27

    Buy recyclable goods

This saves both raw materials and energy, and also reduces the amount of waste on the planet. Look for the appropriate mark on the packaging.

    28

    Save dishes

At picnics, for example, disposable tableware helps out, but it is still preferable to use paper cups and plates rather than plastic ones. In addition, try to save them. Remember how often you took a clean glass at a party because you don't know where you put yours.

    29

    Potty training

One baby takes five to eight thousand diapers, which corresponds to 3.5 tons of garbage, which is very poorly processed. Don't give up on them - just speed up the process of potty training.

    Automobile

    30

    Decide on the size

In a city with a speed limit of 60 km / h, a racing car looks as out of place as a Smart in the sands of the Sahara.

    31

Forget about your car for just one day

Thanks to the combination of a gasoline and an electric motor, up to a third of gasoline is saved, which will also have a positive effect on the condition of your wallet. In the world of electric vehicles, there are more and more (when renting a car, give preference to them if possible) - alas, in Russia the infrastructure necessary for them has not yet been created.

Researchers at the University of Michigan estimate that a single person consumes 38% more food, 42% more packaging, 55% more electricity and 61% more gas than one family member of four.

    34

    Choose eco-hotels

Banyan Tree hotels recycle plastic bottles, while Soneva Resort in the Maldives has eliminated water in plastic altogether. The hotels of the American chain Element offer guests to charge iPhones by pedaling.

    35

    Contribute to biofuel development

Fly with Finnair, United Airlines, Lufthansa, Virgin America - who are thinking about how to reduce their carbon footprint.

    Let's love the planet, people

There are no similar ones in the whole Universe.

There is one for everyone in the whole Universe,

What will she do without us.

In the process of working on the project, we learned that atmospheric air is a mixture of various gases, in which there are solid and liquid particles. Each gas in the atmosphere performs its own function:

 Without oxygen, breathing, combustion, oxidative processes are impossible.

 Nitrogen is part of the compounds that provide mineral nutrition to plants.

 Carbon dioxide is the “insulator” of the Earth, it allows solar energy to pass through, but retains the thermal radiation of the Earth.

 Ozone - absorbs the sun's ultraviolet rays, which in large doses have a detrimental effect on living organisms.

In the course of observations, we found out:

 It is much easier to breathe in the forest, which means the air is much cleaner than in the city.

 When entering the city, the sky above it is slightly darker and becomes gray.

 The question arose: what is the cause of pollution and what measures should be taken to protect the cleanliness of the air?

A person, his economic activity, has a great influence on the composition of the air, which leads to negative consequences. The increase in sulfur oxide in the air leads to acid rain. Heavy metals are released into the air from vehicles and a number of enterprises. The ozone layer becomes thinner. Carbon dioxide from the combustion of fossil fuels enhances the "greenhouse effect", which can raise the average temperature of the air and the Earth's surface and create big problems. Currently, measures are being taken to introduce waste-free industries, build treatment facilities, regulate vehicle emissions, create nature reserves and national parks, and plant greenery in settlements. Can children help protect the environment? Of course. Plant trees in your yard. Break a flower bed. Do not break trees or simply destroy plants. Do not litter in public places. Do not incinerate the garbage, but dispose of it properly. Observe the rules of conduct during outdoor recreation: observe the rules for handling fire (the main cause of forest fires), do not throw garbage (a glass shard can cause a fire in dry seasons), do not make noise. Everyone can do it, even children! Remember: one tree collects 30 kg of dust, reduces noise by 5 times, absorbs carbon dioxide and other harmful compounds from the air. Without food, a person can live up to 5 weeks, without water - up to 5 days, without air - no more than 5 minutes. The remarkable writer and great nature lover M. Prishvin wrote: “We are the masters of our nature, and for us it is the storehouse of the sun with the great treasures of life. Not only should these treasures be protected, they must be opened and shown. ... Fish - water, bird - air, beast - forest, mountains. And a man needs a Motherland. And to protect nature means to protect the Motherland ”.
