Zamyatkin matrix for learning English. What do you think about

Mike replies:

Zhenezhka
I don’t quite understand why learning the dialogues - a technique that has long been known in teaching methods - is elevated to the rank of a language learning method. This is just one small brick out of hundreds of others that are necessary for free ownership. Zhenezhka, you can freely read literature, fluently communicate on any topic, it is easy to understand speech and write competently? You write "In the future, to learn nothing is necessary." Everything, already reached the necessary level? Or should free possession (necessarily, according to Master!) Come, as a revelation, after the xxx-th matrix?

titbit replies:

You know, I, too, with my mind realizing that I am doing nonsense, but my main vice is curiosity ...
In short, after the correspondence with the clarification of what this product contains, the matrix was bought a year ago from the character under discussion (well, is there anything useful in the household, not for yourself, so there is someone to use), after reading ... well say besides:
"oh! shaitan!"

To say that this confirmed me in my worst suspicions - to say nothing))

Cossack replies:

titbit I am also curious :))

Even money (by the way, quite a large amount) as it did not feel sorry. After all, for the lessons, even such cruel ones, you have to pay :))

And I was very sorry. BUT! Shaitan himself offered to return the money to me after I asked him a few questions and returned it.
py.sy. By the way, there is no such censorship as on his website (INSTANTLY deletes everything that can at least somehow cloud the "teacher"), probably, in the worst years of our history.

titbit replies:

Cossack

BUT! Shaitan himself offered to give me a refund after I asked him a few questions.

i also offered, but there was a rather "hard" time for me - there was no free time at all, it started spinning, was forgotten and spat.

by the way, there is no such censorship as on his website (INSTANTLY deletes everything that can at least somehow cloud the "teacher"), probably, in the worst years of our history.

for sure. And my first post was hanging for a long time - where I am still quite neutral (as there is only an opinion about the book), and now my reaction to the matrix was removed instantly)))

titbit replies:

Here, it turns out in the mail a little preserved correspondence with this gentleman.

I don’t know, it’s important for me, whether you will consider me a provocateur or someone else ... In principle, I have nothing to repeat, I’ve already written everything ...> I regard the deletion of my messages as weakness - instead of dialogue, it turns out to be a game with a known outcome.> I don’t see any point in proving my point of view.> When I ordered the matrix, it was really interesting to get acquainted with the new approach and even to become an active participant in the process.> In fact, I now regard myself as the next “sponsor” of the raw idea.> Well, if not only the monetary interest of you ig for all those movements that occur.> And even if it is still more prosaic, well ... this is typical of our lives.>

it was written after familiarization with the product.

Well, you do not send the money to everyone in the same situation as me. Could it be wiser, nevertheless, to go the other way and initially give all the rest full characteristics of the product or refine the product?
I did not get much poorer by paying you, but once again I was convinced that the activity around the product is not a guarantee of its quality and reasonableness (unfortunately). And I will survive the disappointment of the product without you paying me now.

PS
Entered the dialogue on the site, solely hoping that you are interested in testing your product.
Since everything suggests that the absence of unresolved responses is more important, I see no reason to continue what we have begun. I do not fight with windmills. Life is full of more interesting things.

it was written after the proposal to send me back bloods (and after partially removing my posts from his site)))

titbit replies:

But Mr. Zamyatkin did not let everything go and he answered me the following:

Honestly, tired of communication. Especially since you process the information in half. You accuse me of not working with your matrix. But how to work with a material that does not need to be listened to before understanding, since the material is understandable at the first one-time listening up to 100%? (I have already reported this on the site, in the message that you deleted.) Why do I have to listen to what I perfectly distinguish and understand to the slightest nuances for hours and hours? Naturally, if the matrix contained more complex pieces, then I would definitely listen to them !!!
Moreover, I completely disassembled the text of the matrices for the vocabulary - I didn’t want to be unfounded (I can even send you in alphabetical order - what if it is useful for analysis?)
I do not live in Krasnoyarsk, again, you missed a little.

If it’s easier for you to label, than to think that the advice can sometimes be benevolent and practical (it may be worth admitting that, with all the correctness of the idea, the matrix itself is not finalized?), Then we don’t need to beat your nerves to each other ( what we are doing actively).

I studied the language, I will continue to do it, perhaps even (I don’t exclude such an option) I will make a sound selection suitable for me, based on your ideas, but taking into account the expansion and complication of filling the scale (the problem is only in the time it takes to create a compilation ).

I wrote on the site:
delete ALL my posts (which is more preferable) or restore ALL (again, if you put my thoughts on public display, then let them not be taken out of context) - in any case, we will forget about each other with mutual joy.

PS
The victim has never felt herself and, I hope, is not necessary.
I draw conclusions from any result and go further, which I wish for you.

titbit replies:

And here it is also found there (I answer the question of some person who saw my post on the Zamyatkin site and asked for my opinion):

What I received:
> 30 plots (some plots are taken from one, just broken up into
> somewhat short)
> Range of vocabulary: a little over 600 units (including interjections,
> prepositions, different forms to be).
> The grammar is primitive.
> The sound quality is good.
>
> Just in my opinion, the author spent a lot of time on the book and
> minimum thinking time when creating the matrix itself.
>
> Regards, xxxx.
>
> PS The author even offered me a refund, but I got dirty
> reluctance ... He screams the loudest about the scam, and himself ...

titbit replies:

1. Are there multi-level matrices (for beginners, for those who want to improve, etc.), or is this one matrix containing materials with an increasing level of complexity?
2. What is the total duration of the matrix sounding (minutes, hours) without taking into account the repeated repetition of the same text?

These questions were asked among many others before buying the “pill of happiness” discussed.

What amazes me most (in the light of the fact that I know how wrong it is) Zamyatkin’s answer:

1. This is a single matrix containing materials with increasing levels of complexity.

So, using 600 lexical units (then I was still unknown), you can create a universal product and for those who encounter language for the first time, and for those who have been on the road for a long time))

PS
Oh, and I managed to get into the mail, how many posts to anyone unnecessary scribbled :))
Why unnecessary - because those who don’t suffer Zamyatkin’s money will not end up anyway :))

The Point of the Log responds:

It is noteworthy that the author himself speaks about the matrix in the
1. What is the inverse language resonance matrix?
- The matrix of reverse language resonance is a set of twenty to thirty dialogues or texts in the target language for repeated loud reading - certainly in full voice and without fail with the most complete imitation of announcers.
3. Is it possible to master a foreign language without using the matrix of inverse language resonance?
- Yes, you can. The matrix is just the simplest and shortest way to mastering the language.
4. It is worth only memorizing twenty-thirty matrix dialogues, and I will know a foreign language?
- No, the matrix is just the initial stage of learning a foreign language. In addition, the matrix does not need to be memorized by heart, although if such memorization involuntarily happens, then there will be nothing terrible about it. "
That is, it is clear that the so-called. matrices are needed in order to "enter" new language and feel the taste so to speak. Az sinner also had the experience of buying an American matrix because it was just too lazy to do something with his own hands on the one hand, and on the other, he was not sure of his competence in this matter, and wanted to try this method. This pleasure cost me $ 100 at that time. Of course, the shining nimbus around the former bright face of the author, painted in my imagination after reading the book, faded a little after receiving this product. In my idealism, the next significant blow was struck :) The censorship mentioned above also causes great sadness. I don’t know what other matrices are made of, but the American is cut from the Random House audio course 100% English - the initial level. Personally, I, as a non-specialist, liked this method - its essence is in maximal and intensive immersion in the language being studied. This immersion is achieved mainly through a massive reading of original texts and viewing-listening to films of podcasts, etc. I don’t know how much this can be considered as a method - just combining together the basic universal principles, but they are stated very interestingly and convincingly. The main idea of the book is that it is possible to learn the language only by your own hard work and then, miracles can be found in this area, but very rarely you shouldn’t hope for them - no one will teach us the language easily and naturally for a couple of months. Trite? May be. But in me, before reading his book, such an idealistic hope still lived somewhere deep - faith in some magical and miraculous express methods that teach you to freely express yourself and understand the language in a short time and not much bothering yourself. About grammar, he does not speak much because all of us are already fed by it from the cradle. It is clear that you need to deal with it, but here everyone can already choose benefits for their personal taste and mentality. I'm trying to go this way, but at the very beginning. It is clear that reading and listening-viewing only develop passive skills. How to learn to speak? According to the theory of the author, this should happen as if by itself - after passing through the matrix and a large number of books read, films watched, programs watched, etc. - "from an excess of language pressure". It may be funny to you, but as a layman I can afford to experience the truth of this statement :)

Regarding the soup from the ax: for six months of lessons in the matrix method, I paid a hundred rubles, the book cost so much. Now it is available for free.

Do you know. What is an ax soup? And here the price of the book?
Razvodilovo that it does not work and can not work. Listening to the words of 300 words, then taking to read (!) Unadapted literature, will you advance much without vocabulary? how many pages per day you master, especially since you are not recommended to use dictionaries. Our parents taught languages in their institutions in Soviet times — and what do they say? And how much after all this will you be prepared for watching movies? Show me at least someone who, over the YEAR of such delusional activities, will be able to understand a normal film with any kind of complex content - not as dumb (pictures), namely - speech.
That is - razvodilovo, no matter how much it costs.

Devil replies:

Hello to all! I am new here, but I have been reading the forum for a long time ... and I came here after reading Zamyatkin’s book) I think the argument that you brought up here is stupid))
All I had to do was to study the language only in dreams, and only after reading the book, I seriously wanted to learn it. This does not mean that I will use this matrix (by the way, I'm not going to pay, I downloaded it for free in the internet "just in case"), but the book really inspires and encourages learning, I read it without stopping! Maybe you will laugh, or throw tomatoes at me, but I also listen to Dragunkin (but do not read), and even thanks to him I finally understand at least the meaning of building sentences, this is quite a bit, but now I remember with horror how in school we have stuffed "incomprehensible verbs, tenses, etc., without explaining anything properly) And, please, do not prove with foaming at the mouth how easy or correct it is to learn a language if the result is the same anyway. To each his own. Simply, we are all different, everyone has his own approach to studying, it is easier for someone to immediately study a grammar book in English, and someone else needs to be chewed / decomposed on the shelves so that it comes in simple language, which is important for a start .. you are with a child of 2 3 years do not immediately begin to talk with scientific phrases))
Certainly the book is very useful, even if it makes you believe in yourself and instead of the words "I dream to learn, maybe someday, although I doubt," you start thinking "yes, I can in the end!" you sit down and study)) Judging by myself, I am glad that his book caught my eye and I don’t care much how it was written, although Vasya Pupkin)) I made conclusions for myself, I read this forum, I got acquainted with books that recommend , memorized various references, etc. Now I do, the benefit of free time a lot)
And, also, those who are already fluent in the language here, it seems to me that you are behaving a little arrogant towards those who only learn) Be patient and kinder!

With books, in my unenlightened look - the same about the story.

If we are talking about information, then under the "water" understand texts that do not contain useful information. The content of the book Zamyatkin about half a page. It is just enough text to describe this “army method,” which by the way was known long before Zamyatkin. This is not his author's technique, but he just dragged the terms "matrix", "resonance" and so on to create an atmosphere of scientific knowledge, although there is no science here as a science. He did not invent anything new. So, if Zamyatkin was put in plus, only that he became a popularizer of this old method.

Roman responds:

Log Sharpening

Roman, Ilya Frank is an apologist for "parallelism", but Zamyatkin is categorically against the use of texts diluted with the native language. I am also an adherent, but I don’t suffer from fanaticism, as you say it, :)

I fully understand that one method may technically contradict the other, but then why rub it, and immediately =) I would just add a comment as an administrator: Do not walk there - Frank will fall into the head, you will be completely dead! =) Doubts are caused not by the method itself, but by the behavior of g. Zamyatkin. =)

The oyster ate responds:

Everything would be fine and one could not cling to trifles if this pleasure was not worth $ 100. Since the conscience of a respected author allows him to use other people's courses for the manufacture of their matrices. The English Matrix is made from a good audio course for novice American publishers. By itself, this course could be bought in the store for about $ 30 - along with the accompanying textbook and disks from where these dialogues were taken - 15-20 percent of the contents of the disks. The dialogues of the matrix are stuck as if it were horrible - something is about 15 minutes, something is about 20, something is more, something is less. This is despite the fact that it is written on his forum that the optimal minimum time for listening to a dialogue is 20 minutes, if I do not confuse. What prevented to make all the dialogues about the same duration? Turned on the player - listened to the end and it is clear that 20 minutes have passed. Why 20 minutes is also not clear - whether any research has been conducted on this subject - I doubt ... - but at least you need to be consistent. Even the accompanying scanned textbook went as a bonus - but it was scanned completely deadly and almost not readable. The textbook, by the way, is so-so, but for the audio course it is probably quite tolerable.

Well, m. for Zamyatkin, as for yesterday's rich American, $ 100 is not money and he believes that for everyone else, these are mere trifles ... :)

Gregory replies:

I also read this book several times. According to reviews (not only here but also in other places) I can say that this author belongs to the category of authors in whose book everyone sees the figure that he wants. Similarly, for example, with Lazarev and his "Diagnosis of Karma". The book is good because:
-Said that inability to language is a myth. (We do not take extreme cases of violations of the Central Statistical Service)
- About the fact that nobody invented the magic pills, and then knowledge is gained through blood and blood
-The intensity of employment-the key point (who read carefully, he remembers the author's metaphor about the extraction of fire or the melting of steel matches)
-It is that no one will teach you only yourself (Who was on the forum, well, or read a book: Remember its slogan (IMHO)). In addition, this item is interleaved with items 1.2.

As for the water in the book: Perhaps it’s still more fun with stories. All the same, this is not a manual to the microwave
- Does not impose anything: I do not like it, learn as you please and do what you want (chapter on expanding universe)
- Expand excuse about the lack of time
As for expressions like "I read it in other places." Willingly believe. Read books 10-20 on any one topic: I assure you, You will think "Who has stolen ideas from anyone"

Igo-go answers:

In my opinion, nonsense. It is proposed to stupidly look for a black cat in a dark room.
Although reading the book for me was not useless.
Firstly, the book gives a huge charge of motivation to learn English, and secondly, I finally understood the root of my problems with listening - without learning to recognize individual sounds in EnglishI'm trying to recognize speech.

But that's the problem that the method of my problem does not solve. Instead of listening to a couple of words at the initial stage, where sounds “inaudible” by me have a distinctive meaning, it is suggested to listen to relatively voluminous passages with the hope that the brain itself will give up the habit of hearing in foreign speech primarily the sounds of the native language. - This is about listening.

And about speaking - generally frivolous. It is assumed that external control over the quality of pronunciation is not needed at all!

Mike replies:

You take a simple text, thoroughly analyze each sentence (grammar, word meanings), learn it by heart, imitating pronunciation and intonation and understanding (!) The meaning of each word, each ending, each preposition. Having learned, you begin to build your sentences using learned samples. Add new words, try on situations to yourself, to your life, so that there is a connection between words and real facts and events. Then take the next text, a little more complicated, and do the same (not forgetting to repeat the first one). If you choose the right material, then somewhere in 10-15 texts you will have a strong supply of basic vocabulary and knowledge of the basics of grammar, which will allow you to go on to read simple books (with a dictionary) and work with simple films, and also communicate more or less confidently. at the household level. Depending on the abilities and hard work, this stage will take 2-4 months.
Tested in practice, it works, it remains only to dilute this paragraph with 200 pages of discourse on English and anecdotes from personal life - that's all, the “reverse perceptual flow” method is ready or there “immersion-active mastering”.

I know a couple of foreign languages, but somehow defective. I freely read both of them, but I practically can't talk. Yes, and learning them was given me quite difficult. On both occasions, I always experienced an inferiority complex and considered myself not very capable.

For a long time, Nikolai Zamyatkin’s book "I can’t teach you foreign language"I read it, noted the conformity of the methods described there with the work of the brain, and marked it somehow to come back and try to apply it practically. Now is the time.

In this post I will describe the method itself and its background.

Zamyatkin has a good command of the syllable and seems to like to write (and in life, probably, also talk), his book is replete with all sorts of bikes, but the method itself is described there quite fluently.

It consists of two stages - work with the so-called. matrix and intensive reading.

A matrix is a block from conversations read by a native speaker. There should be thirty dialogs there, not very big ones. Restrictions are imposed on them - they should not be interspersed with Russian, long unnatural pauses, music, extraneous noises. The work on each dialogue is as follows: first, each dialogue must be heard many times, then listen and follow its recorded text, then listen, follow the text and repeat at the same time.

The first stage takes a year and a half.

At the second stage, when there is already a basic understanding of the language, you can proceed to intensive conversations, watching movies and, most importantly, reading interesting books in huge volumes.

Zamyatkin does not explain in any way why the language should be studied in this way, since it seems that he came to the methodology in a purely practical way - in the course of studying and teaching others.

But the logic is completely clear and is explained by the structure of the human brain. Moreover, it broadly repeats the study of a mother tongue by a child.

What is actually needed to learn a foreign language?

1. To know the base of the language - that is, the roots that convey meaning, and grammatical signs that carry information about the connections of words, as well as give additional attributes of the situation, for example, time.

2. To be able to perceive speech - that is, to distinguish phonemes in the stream of live speech, segment the stream into separate parts, and recognize these parts.

3. The same with the letter.

4. To be able to generate a stream of phonemes according to the desired meaning.

5. Same with the letter.

To perform task 1, you need memory — load the entire dictionary into it.

For tasks 2 and 4, you need to develop in your brain the appropriate algorithms - which recognize speech and which control the movement of small muscles, modulating the sounds from the flow of exhaled air.

The brain, unfortunately, does not have disk drives, and it is impossible to download anything from the outside, so it can create such algorithms only on its own - based on the available information.

In order to provide a sufficient amount of such information for analysis, and you need an intense many hours dive.

Since the work of the brain is an energy-intensive thing, people do not like to develop new algorithms and avoid this in every way. To get your head to work, you need strong motivation plus some tricks. For example, the restriction of Russian-language information creates some sensory deprivation, which forces the brain to intensively absorb any information that remains accessible.

Task 3 is much simpler than task 2. Speech is expanded in time and does not repeat, and the letter is expanded in space and you can always go back when reading. In addition, the speech is very ambiguous, and the desire to save energy forces the speaker to reduce a lot of sounds - that is, to pronounce them indistinctly, with a weakened voltage of the speech apparatus, in the hope that the context will allow the rest to think. There are no such problems with a letter - the letters are always the same and you can recognize them correctly.

There are several other problems with the letter - it conveys speech very roughly. Actually, the language exists only in speech form, and the letter is just its some fixation, like a photo. Everyone knows that there are good photos, such as in a passport, and the same person in different photos may look completely different. The writing is about the same - it is approximate, and even usually lags behind the changes in the language by a couple of centuries. Because of this, there are often letters that do not correspond to anything in speech. Naive people who are learning the language for the first time often swear about it - they say that these foreigners cannot read their own text correctly. It is like being indignant when a person in life was not like his portrait made ten years ago.

However, problems with dumb letters and other inconsistencies are an order of magnitude easier than problems with the recognition of the flow of sounds. If we are talking, of course, about phonetic writing. Memorizing hieroglyphs is an additional task of about the same complexity as memorizing an entire dictionary. Actually, it is required to remember one more dictionary, only this time consisting not of sounds, but of highly stylized drawings.

It seems that the recognition of lexemes in humans is closely related to the motor skills of their utterance, and it is either impossible to develop one without the other, or an order of magnitude more difficult. From here and algorithm of a technique - listening and pronouncing simultaneously. Reliance on the printed text serves as a part for creating a connection between sound and its recording on paper, and partially gives hints for the development of recognition algorithms - since, for example, there are gaps between words that may not be present in speech. On paper, however, it is possible to identify and reduced sounds, at the same time memorizing in which positions they are reduced.

A recommendation to listen to matrices read by a native speaker who speaks naturally is understandable - otherwise your algorithms will practice on completely different sounds, for example, on singing or on a completely foreign accent. Well, music and Russian speech are simply not needed, since they are extraneous information.

The need to maintain a certain intensity of classes also corresponds to the structure of the brain - which tends to simply forget things that have not been mentioned for a certain time.

Since the brain has a certain rate of development of new neural connections and it is rather slow, and the amount of information to be learned is very large, the time to learn a language will roughly correspond to its speed of learning by children. The first stage is a year and a half. The children's brain is more plastic, but an adult has more experience and can use ready-made knowledge.

Faster learning a language is impossible unless you are a unique genius. Rather, it is possible, but only by reducing the quality of education.

All the described stages are mainly performed by the subconscious and, accordingly, are in no way connected with logic. The logic is also useful, but the main tool here is not. With its help, it is possible to study grammar using textbooks, both at the first and at the second stage, but only in parallel with the basic training, not at its expense. When you have a base and half written in the manual you already know, reading the textbooks is easy and very pleasant.

In the next post I will describe my personal impressions of the application of the method.

To date, the matrix method of Nikolai Zamyatkin, which guarantees the study of a foreign language in the shortest possible time, is considered almost the most effective and accessible. It turns out that there is very little information about such a technique, and all of it comes down either to forums of already accomplished users, or to dry descriptions of the matrix itself.

How can you decide to purchase a course, and is it worth spending your time on it? Let's try to shed light on these issues.

Main provisions

The matrix consists of three mandatory points:

• Listening to audio lessons, and with a frequency of at least two hours a day;
• Listening to audio recordings with parallel viewing of the printed text. This is called reconciliation;
• Read the text out loud, copying intonation and pronunciation.

It is believed that the English method of Nikolai Zamyatkin after 6 months will help to speak freely in a previously unknown language. And it doesn't matter if you knew at least one word in English before. The Zamyatkin method is equally accessible to both teachers and students, ordinary users and polyglots.

How to listen?

The same audio snippet will have to be listened until learn to understand and translate every word effortlessly. If you are just starting to study, then each audio file to listen to at least 3 weeks in a row.

It is better to start with tiny passages, lasting no more than a minute. It can be taken from the podcasts, the matrix or the audiobook of the author - it is not so important.

Watch, listen and check

When you are busy listening to an English sound file, you can hardly understand it from the first time, let alone separate specific words from each other. If, in parallel, to track the written text, then everything falls into place: you can hear that it is “swallowed”, and that with which intonation / pronunciation is pronounced.

Working with text and audio at the same time, after a certain time it is possible to make out and hear every word, understand all the phrases and memorize them in full.

Nachitka

If only the first two points of the entire study methodology are fulfilled, then it will be possible only to understand English, but not to speak freely on it. Here it is already a matter of speech apparatus and its physiological features / habits.

The advantages and disadvantages of the method

Based on the numerous and very contradictory reviews of previous users, the Zamyatkin method called " Matrix of English"Has the following positive aspects:

• A special style of writing, which is well perceived and has an effective impact on people;
• The author insists that learning a language is impossible without sincere and strong desire;
• The creator of the technique motivates as much time as possible to devote to self-study, not sparing any effort on it;
• It is also encouraging that learning the language using the Zamyatkin method does not oblige the user to memorize grammar, numerous spelling rules, lists of irregular verbs, and so on. The author is sure that the human brain is able to pass through itself and analyze a specific volume of language material, which will make it possible to speak an unfamiliar language without error;
• As you know, if you do not choose the most convenient way to learn languages, you will not succeed in achieving success soon. In this regard, the technique is really perfect, and after five or six months, without any group courses, you can speak no worse than an Englishman.

Now, what are the disadvantages of the matrix method of learning English.

They are as follows:

• The author negatively relates to parallel translations. He believes that their simultaneous viewing with listening or reading English material does not allow them to immerse themselves in the learning process. The person intuitively begins to look at the written cheat sheet and relaxes. Users believe that parallel translation helps save a lot of time, again, if you use it only when absolutely necessary;
• Certain doubts and even a touch of negativity are caused by the fact that the author of the methodology opposes the subtitles, as another additional tool for learning English. He believes that they confuse the student, and there is no point in wasting his study time on them. As users say, the subtitles, especially the original and high-quality ones, revised many times, help make a huge breakthrough in learning English. In addition, the constant viewing of foreign films and their subtitles is one of the ways of free self-education;
• The technique is considered relatively tough, demanding and costly in terms of energy and strength, although it does not have a single ineffective exercise;
• In the process of learning there is a formidable drowsiness. The author is confident that in this way the student's brain tries to avoid stress; if it is easier to say, it is lazy. Users are sure that this is nothing more than proof that the brain has received enough information, and it needs to process it in a calm mode.

As you can see, Nikolai Zamyatkin developed a rather contradictory, but effective method that has already helped thousands of people master a language unfamiliar to them.

If you are not afraid of the statements of already accomplished users, try to learn English in a non-standard, but effective way, without dictionaries, expensive courses and cramming.

1. The desire to learn a language. Will and self-discipline. Minimization of the Russian-speaking environment (refusal to watch TV, radio, books, do not compensate for them with excessive communication in Russian) creating an artificial information hunger to activate the brain in the direction of learning English in the absence of other sources of entertainment
2. Repeated listening to the dialogue for 3 hours daily 10 -15 days to distinguish all the phonemes of the dialogue (the first 3-4 dialogs take longer, then already when the brain adapts it is easier for 5-7 days for the dialogue). The criterion for assessing the transition to the next dialogue is when you realize that there is no further progress, that you have worked out the whole vein, so to speak. But in any case, at least 3-4 days. The first 5 conversations are much longer.
do not try to translate at the stage of the hearing, the translation will begin only at the stage of listening to the announcers with simultaneous tracking of the text
3. Listening + reading - developing the word "clothes" - the sound "hidden under the clothes."
4. Loud repeated pronunciation of dialogues out loud after fully memorizing the dialogue broken down into elementary phonetic components with imitation of pronunciation
The main thing is the correct intonation of the language!
A brief algorithm for programmers: Listening -> HEARING-> Analysis -> Imitation
After passing through all 25-30 dialogues, read them in a row completely within 1-2 months.
There should be no mixing of English and Russian languages either in headphones, or in dialogues, or in books!
Further, the transition to a massive reading of interesting subject books without hanging on separate minor words (minimizing the use of the dictionary in particular for translating adjectives)
On the next move to watching video, radio. After expanding the lexical stock, the next stage is spontaneous speaking. Those. as if excessive informational language pressure is created inside us and, as a result, an active need arises for spontaneous speech in English (details below).
Fight drowsiness
- listen to the dialogue in motion
The grammar of the language, not the language of the grammar (similarly says AJ Hoge)
- the right language constructions will be included in our lexicon from dialogues, books and movies. Studying grammar only at the stage of reading books and above.
Distracted attention methods of struggle
- repeat dialogs
- reading interesting books and dialogues many times

Insert from the forum
Little observation from personal experience.
When you listen to the text, you catch yourself being constantly distracted and are no longer listening. I found this way ...
It’s necessary to pretend that you yourself say: moving your lips and tongue a little noticeably to the text (i.e., if you hear "O", we pretend that we say "O", if we hear "P", we pretend that we snit ). The movements are completely imperceptible, but the feedback starts to work. The brain always, as a rule, likes to listen to itself, and we will slip the text from the matrix to it. Let him listen, and enjoy his eloquence!)))
1. At the beginning of the audition (in absolute silence) I try to concentrate my attention - because I still can not hear anything, and there is nothing to imitate.
2. Toward the middle of listening, I start “to myself” (occasionally moving my lips, tongue, etc.) but without uttering a sound, repeat after the announcers only those segments that I heard clearly and “shut up” to hear the rest.
3. At the end of the audition, it turns out somehow to “mumble for itself”, but also not constantly, but as if pausing to check that the last time I really heard what I needed.
4. When the entire dialogue is heard and clearly heard, I listen to it additionally, for another two or three days (for additional verification). On the way to and from work, when cars are passing through - they create noise, but at that moment I still hear it clearly, here comes the understanding that there is no sense in further listening. At this stage, it usually turns out to say "about myself" at the same time as the announcers, or when you hear the beginning of the phrase - pick it up and then chant in unison with the announcers.

Lesson preparation
1. Rubbing the muscles of the face and ears
2. Stretching the lips - "horse smile"
3. Circular movements of the tongue with the pulling of the lips and cheeks (similar to the removal of food debris from the outside of the gums)
Total exercise time 1-2 minutes
4. every 20-30 minutes after the start of classes to carry out rubbing the muscles of the face and ears (massage earlobes and brow muscles) - helps to fight fatigue and dispersed attention

Book reading rules
1. Read only interesting books
2. Books must be at least 100-200 pages to create a contextual field because otherwise, “linguistic breathing” gets lost (or, to put it simply, due to the author's constant repetition of unknown words (phrases) in various combinations, their meaning becomes clear — in a short story this is not the case)
3. At the beginning of the novel, it is most difficult to read because of the abundance of the author’s original vocabulary (in other words, verbal garbage), then the “forest” becomes notably less frequent (the author no longer gushes with new words and expressions)
4. Minimizing the use of the dictionary
5. When reading it is useful to move lips (as in childhood when they learned to read)
6. Read a lot of books up to 100 pages per day (when you are kidding)
7. Rereading books is especially recommended at first.
8. An important point is to read what was previously NOT read in any language and the plot is unknown. When you read an already familiar thing you catch yourself thinking that you understood the content only because REMEMBERED this content, because I used to read it in Russian.
vocabulary is typed through reading, not through the matrix. Matrix is a starter, only the starting engine for learning English

Movie viewing rules
1. When watching a video, it is recommended to turn off the subtitles (distracts from understanding the dialogues)
2. Recommended interesting films with a large number of dialogues (especially popular science with voice-overs)
3. Re-viewing especially at the initial stage is recommended (above% of the understanding of the dialogues)
4. Watch serials - there is much more context and higher speech density per unit of time. Especially in "situation comedies", such as "Friends", "Star Trek" (Star Trek).
music and songs only stimulate interest in the language, but do not give normal language practice because the construction of phrases and intonation of their reproduction is extremely far from real (strong distortions)

Think in english
- abandon the mental translation from Russian to English
- learn ready-made phrases (there are examples of phrases in Lingvo)
- use the explanatory dictionary in English
- Try to remember the phrase-picture
- keep internal dialogue in English
- chat on live topics
Points of transition to an uncomfortable state when learning English are obligatory in the learning process and are caused by the necessity of obligatory care from a comfortable level to a new level.
(i.e., when at this level everything is bouncing as if from teeth, you should step on your throat and move on to a new uncomfortable “rake” stage)
- from native language to matrix (dialogs)
- from matrix (dialogues) to mass reading
- watching TV and movies
- spontaneous speaking with native speakers

Spontaneous speaking preparation
The matrix (dialogues) form a new language center in the brain and, figuratively speaking, are the source of fire in which new books are added - books, films, communication.
To create excessive language pressure, it is advisable to use the "immersion" in the language environment. It is not necessary to travel abroad for 2 weeks to go to a "state of siege" like a monastery (live in the country house alone) with an absolute minimum of the Russian language - the environment is only English and in a circle: reading -> cinema -> radio -> reading + inner monologue on English
Such excessive linguistic pressure will create a prerequisite for free speaking. only part of what we have can be used is manifested when speaking freely. It is like compensation of excessive language pressure on us which will be expressed in spontaneous speaking in English.

Next from the forum (not mine) ...
There were a few more questions.
1. When selecting sound materials, is it not scary if they are interrupted (in some logical place) and do not sound completely? It is very difficult to find so many sound materials of exactly the size that you advise.
2. I selected 29 sound materials. Each 30-60 seconds long. Made from each cycle about 18 minutes. It turned out 29 files for 18 minutes. How to listen to them now? Contract, from the first file to the last, or according to some other scheme?
3. Should dialogues that I fully understand be excluded from the "matrices"?
4. You write in the book that you need to exclude background sounds. What about imitation of the sound from the handset, childish or senile voices when dubbing conversations? Such effects may be present? Naturally, provided that the text is read by native speakers.

Answer:
1. logical discontinuities are undesirable, but not “deadly,” so to speak, especially if their percentage is small.
2. First, fully work out the 1st. When he will be heard and set up, move on to the 2nd, etc.
3. It does not follow, because the matter is not just in a passive understanding, but in the ability to speak LOUDLY and correctly.
4. If after a few hours of listening to any sound or special effect you are not annoyed, then you get the answer to your question. I recommend removing sounds that are potential to cause discomfort. Child and senile voices are not special effects, but an equal part of the language.
In general, this method and, accordingly, an approximate scheme of classes is intended primarily for those who are just starting to learn a language, that is, they are learning from scratch. Accordingly, the dialogues are given primarily for this level.
However, as practice shows, very many of those who have once learned a language, receive considerable benefit from the lessons of matrix dialogues. Far from everyone who has even read can readily perceive dialogues by ear, and from those who can still do this, many are not able to reproduce them easily and accurately either. The main goal of working with dialogues is to acquire a steady skill of HEARING and precise REPRODUCTION of sounds and other features of the language being studied, this is the basis for the further successful development of conversational skills.
If you hear everything well, it is obvious that you do not need three days for wiretapping, it is quite likely that you will be required to read the text out loud from you. And at this stage it is necessary to achieve the MAXIMUM ACCURACY reproduction of the speakers' speech, and for this, of course, you will still have to return to listening - alternate listening with reading aloud.
As for the dialogues of different levels of complexity, I haven’t got personal practice yet.
However, purely logically, it seems to me that at the matrix stage there is not much point in separating dialogues according to degrees of difficulty, because the main goal of the matrix is, as I said, to acquire a good skill to HEAR and play sounds, intonations, melody of the language, and even for that easy dialogues are quite suitable, and maybe even more suitable than complex ones. Well, the vocabulary and grammar, if some kind of base already exists and the material of the dialogues seems too easy, you can develop it in parallel in other ways. Although it is still better at the very beginning, at least during the work on the first few dialogues, to concentrate on them, naturally, passing them at a faster pace than if you were engaged in the language from scratch. So it seems to me.

A brief algorithm of the method of "matrix of inverse language resonance"
Work out the first 5-10 dialogues as follows:
1. Listening to the 1st dialogue - at least 2-3 days, 3 hours a day
2. Listening with following the eyes in the text - 1-2 days, 3 hours a day
3. Reading the dialogue out loud in a very loud voice with the most accurate imitation of the pronunciation and intonation of the speakers - 3-4 days, 3 hours a day.
4. Proceed to the next dialogue and to item 1
Dialogues from 11 to 30 can be worked out in the same way, with a possible decrease in the total time for each dialogue up to 3-5 days (but not hours per day), if their working out will be easier.
After working out all 30 dialogues individually, read the entire matrix in full voice from the first dialogue to the last non-stop and first - 3 hours a day for 1-3 months.
After completing work with the matrix, start reading unadapted literature with minimal use of the dictionary, listen to the radio and watch TV without translation and subtitles 3 hours a day (for reading and listening together).

From myself I will add that after reading the 10 pages of the book, I also had a desire to make a short version of this book, because from the author's style of presentation swells the brain. But since the appropriate version already exists, I think you should not bother with the new one.

Step-by-step instructions on how to use the Zamyatin method (You cannot teach a foreign language - Zamyatkin NF)

The book of Nikolai Zamyatkin "You can not teach a foreign language."
The title of the book is very correct. Languages are not taught - languages are learned.

From the very first pages, the author in tatters spreads tales about language scam (courses),
secret 25th frame, books that will teach a foreign language in three days, etc., etc.

Tells about his own method of learning foreign languages.
The method is called "Reverse resonance matrix".
According to him, with the help of this method, you can safely learn any foreign language.
Without thinking about cases, conjugations, gerands, endings and other nasty things.

The only thing you need is patience.

***
Training is divided into two stages.
The first stage is to create a so-called “reverse resonance matrix”.
This means to load into the consciousness of the student of high-quality linguistic raw materials.
This is the media content of 25-30 audio or video.

For example, a 5, 10 or 15 minute monologue or dialogue of native speakers.
Too long recording will tire.
In the video. Or on audio.

The text of these records is also required, but it is not needed in the first cycle.
Audio or video texts to find no problem. Internet at hand.
As they say, Google to help.

So. The first stage is divided into three cycles.

The first cycle - you need to CAREFULLY listen to each entry 20 times.
To learn to hear speech.
(I assure you, after 10 times you are really going to be sick. But you need patience! And this is the main thing.)

You will listen and understand nothing from these recordings, but nothing terrible.
We must continue to listen. Listen attentively. Trying to catch every word.

And after listening 20 times you will not understand anything. But that's okay.
This is a raw material. This is a language material that needs to be loaded into consciousness.

It is necessary to make so that these incomprehensible while you sounds of this foreign language become, as it were, relatives.
We must learn to catch them from the flow of speech.

It will take 2-3 months. I mean listening to all 25-30 records will take 2-3 months.
Depending on the length of the recordings and provided that you have to listen every day 20 times.
And even more. 30 times also does not hurt.

The second cycle - listening and simultaneous observation of the text of the recording.
Here you will need texts.

In this loop, a connection is created between pronunciation and spelling.
Who "suffers ear", the second cycle is just right.
After listening, you will not only listen to the same thing again, but now follow the text.
(I assure you, get an incredible relief in mastering the recording)

The second cycle can last 3-5 months.
Again, depending on ...

The third cycle is a LOUD reading aloud of the same recordings of their texts.
As a result, the muscle memory of the facial muscles and
of the entire articulation apparatus during the repeated recitation of new sounds and
unusual combinations of new sounds of the studied language.

After hearing training at the first and second stages at the third stage are developed
necessary articulation skills and habits.

The first stage with its three cycles ended.

Now it's time for the second stage.
The second stage, the author calls "marathon reading."
We must read about 70-80 novels - unadapted literature.
It is advisable not to use a dictionary.

You can look in the grammar references or explanatory dictionaries in the target language.

It is the long novels, the most different subjects to your taste, not stories and short stories.
Long novels, this is for contextual considerations.

The novel has a plot, a context. Unlike the story, it will not end quickly.
In the novel, the same word can be repeated in several meanings.
All this makes one read, follow the plot, imbued with it and think in the language being studied.

If a foreign language is studied according to the method described above, then the scheme is as follows:

First cycle Take, for example, a 5-minute recording of a native speaker. Monologue.
Or any dialogue of carriers (for example, on YouTube).
Begin to listen carefully. We listen 20-30 times.

Second cycle. We take the text of this listened 5-minute recording and begin to listen and at the same time
follow the text.
20-30 times.

The third cycle. LOUDLY read the text of this 5-minute record.
20-30 times. When reading, we repeat the intonation, the tone of the recording characters (native speakers).
That is, we try to completely imitate the carriers.

And so with each entry. Until this record is fully mastered, do not proceed to the next one.
And so all 25-30 records.

Then, when all the records are mastered - marathon reading.

Ideally suited for this method site lingualeo.ru
There is exactly what you need - ready-made records with texts.
I do not know who created it, but the site is just wonderful.

You can not teach a foreign language!

Since this all started. At first, I was outraged by such a ridiculous statement. What is this author who directly speaks about your inability to learn? Add to this the term: "back-resonance matrix", which is confused with its science. Individually, all the words are familiar. And together?

THREE STEPS IN LEARNING THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE.

In fact, everything turned out to be much simpler. At the beginning of training, you create for yourself a matrix of 9 dialogues, with a duration of 1–1.5 minutes. Dialogues "live", taken from everyday speech. It turns out the "grid" of the dialogue with the size of 3x3. This grid must be listened to and spoken out loud, repeatedly. This is the initial base. With this base, you are able to understand a foreign language by 20–30%. Then bring the number of conversations to 25 (5x5 grid) or 36 (6x6 grid). And this is about 60 percent of understanding, ability to speak and free communication. Thus, you create a basic matrix.

In the future, to learn nothing else. The matrix created by you starts working by itself. Unfamiliar words and expressions, passing through the "grid" of the matrix, get stuck in its cells, thereby developing and expanding your language abilities and capabilities.

How long will it take to do this? Differently. Someone able to master one dialogue in 3-5 days. It took me 7-10 days for one. Those. An initial matrix can be created in 30–90 days. Creating a base matrix will take from 3 months to 1 year. It depends on your abilities and your patience. So why can't you learn a foreign language? Because you and only you can teach yourself SAMI! And without spending money.

Step 1. Read the book (it is not only about English, but in principle about languages, any). Absolutely honest book written by a person who has extensive teaching experience. It is easy and fun to read, although the book describes the processes of learning a language in a deep and comprehensive manner. The author, with a fair sense of humor, tells how to learn foreign languages and compares various teaching methods ("25 frame" is also present. From myself I’ll just add: the frame scan of any TV or monitor is set at 24 frames per second. This is an international standard. "25 frame "technically can not be added). And offers his own, author. The thread runs through the whole story: the thought that you cannot learn a foreign language, you can learn ONLY ONLY! After reading the book, the feeling settled inside was that this was the language “Bible”. However, judge for yourself. I note, the book is distributed free of charge, with the consent of the author.

Step 2. How to study? Tools that help in the learning process, can be varied. Basically - this is CDs with dialogs. Their great variety (for money). But, as a true Russian, I think: you only need to buy if the information cannot be found in the public domain. I’ll dwell only on one program that fully fits the book “You can’t teach a foreign language”. The program is called Digital Publishing AG. Official site - Digital Publishing AG. A lot of “live” dialogues (example of dialogue, 53 seconds, mp3) in real “Anglo-American” with translation and, which is very important at the initial stage of learning spoken language, by TESTING pronunciation. A serious test! More than 20% of the errors in the pronunciation will not allow you to proceed to the next stage, only manually. It turns out a curious game: someone who. Program or you? Plus to this: grammar (a bit, concise, but sufficiently). Thanks to the developers! Description of the program in Russian and the archive you can download for free. The program "weighty", 2 GB. So be patient. Download archives, unpack and burn to SD or virtual disk and learn about health! A small "defect" in the archive. There is no simulator of words. A possible replacement for the word simulator is LearnWords. Very good program, simple and convenient, with a clear interface. Many functions and dictionaries in various languages. Which language or set of words to choose - at your discretion. I recommend downloading dictionaries: spelling words + translation + transcription + pronunciation. Official site and catalogs of dictionaries - LearnWords. Free download program and key. If you have a desire to practice your knowledge, then SharedTalk will help you. The site is free, without advertising, completely devoted to communication. 113 languages, 171 countries, text and voice on-line chat, correspondence. Just register (in a couple of minutes) and that's it!

Step 3. To say with pride: “I know English very well” you can dive (not necessarily, but preferably) into the depths of the language. There are many free links on the Internet. tutorials. I liked the textbooks of the Petersburg author Dragunkin A.N. He wrote many books, released CDs and video courses, and organized a school of the same name. Dragunkin A.N. - a professional philologist, with a brilliant education, simply and easily describes the structure of the language. “Angry” English times become “good” acquaintances. The language structure, with mathematical precision, is divided into 7 sections, 7 sections, a total of 49 elements of the structure of the language. The most complete and detailed description in the book: "Universal English textbook." Folio over 600 pages. But do not be afraid of the word "textbook" and the volume of pages. Description - above all praise, easy and affordable. You are taken by the hand and lead accurately, logically and clearly to the full understanding. If you are lazy and you do not want to read a lot, then here is a small copy: “Small jump to English in 115 minutes” (free book: audio and text). Official site - Dragunkin A.N.

P.S. In order to learn how to memorize many English words, you can use the technique proposed in the book “Supermemory. Secrets of memorizing English words ", Vasilyeva E. E., Vasilyev V. Yu.

I will give a short example. Take the English word "chin" - chin. In Russian, it sounds like - CHIN (in tune with our word - BIN). The average official image - a big uncle, with a tummy and a two-, three-stage chin. We combine the English word "chin", pronunciation in Russian - CHIN and the image of the "CHIN" of an ovnik with its "outstanding feature" of the organism CHIN. We hold (from 5 seconds to ... some time) these images in memory. And so! Result! The word was remembered. In the same way learn the other words that you need. The book has ready-made versions of images, but you can create your own. In the free access there is only one link -. I would appreciate a hint to other sources.

And in conclusion. Studying proccess - creative and individual. Perhaps all of the above is suitable only for me, alone. Perhaps someone will get something useful for themselves. Try, experiment. I will be glad to hear your opinion, advice and suggestions.
