Monument to Yesenin in Ryazan: description. The most famous monument to Yesenin in Russia Description of the monument to Yesenin sculptor Tsigal

Monument to the poet Sergei Yesenin on Yeseninsky Boulevard in Moscow was opened in 1972, timed to coincide with the celebration of October 3, the birthday of the favorite of many lovers of literature.

The monument was made by the sculptor Vladimir Efimovich Tsigal with the participation of architects Sergei Evgenievich Vakhtangov and Yuri Vasilyevich Yurov.

The bronze sculpture of the poet is represented as a village boy walking along the road in a peasant shirt and a jacket thrown over his shoulder. On the head is a shock of the recognizable Yesenin hairstyle made of lush hair. The living birches located around the monument seem to emphasize the image of Yesenin, conceived by the sculptor, who passionately loved the nature of his native Ryazan region.

It should be noted that the installation of the monument in those years Soviet period was a difficult task, meeting the resistance of party workers and officials. And this is not accidental, since in life Sergei Yesenin was not only a romantic, but also a rebel, who did not always agree with the actions of the young Soviet republic.

In addition, the sculpture of Tsigal deviated from the canons of the then socialist realism, but the poet's daughter, Tatyana Sergeevna, came to the defense of the monument, who argued that this image emanated poetry and created an incredible immersion in nature.

The installation of a monument to Yesenin at the intersection of Volgogradsky Prospekt and Yeseninsky Boulevard was accompanied by numerous curiosities: either in advance, reports about the opening that had already passed were thrown into the press, or before the ceremony itself, rye was sown at this place for some reason.

Very little time passed, and this monument to Sergei Yesenin lost its rebellious halo. In 1984, even the chairman of the Moscow City Executive Committee, Vladimir Fedorovich Promyslov, spoke of this creation as a bright and original sculptural work.

In 1995, due to a manufacturing defect during casting, the sculpture fell to the ground. Installed it in its original place in a fairly short time.

Many of us remember lines from his poems from childhood. A real son of his land - this definition fits him without any reservations. And he, of course, deserved to be immortalized in his memory. Therefore, it is not surprising that an unusual monument to Yesenin appeared in Ryazan.

The history of the installation of the monument

Ten years - that's how long it took to finish the work on it. The monument was created by the efforts of the famous Soviet sculptor, People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of the Lenin and State Prizes, honorary citizen of Ryazan A. P. Kibalnikov and architect R. Begunets. Its installation was timed to coincide with a significant date - the 80th anniversary of the birth of the great poet. This event took place on October 2, 1975.

    Opening of the monument

The solemn event was attended by connoisseurs and lovers of Yesenin's poetry, creative people and ordinary workers. There were also close relatives of the poet.

    Description of the monument

The place where the sculpture is installed (Trubezh embankment, next to it is chosen prudently: from here open the Oka open spaces, sincerely sung by the poet in poems.

The material from which the monument to Sergei Yesenin in Ryazan is made is bronze. It is decorated. Its height is 4.5 meters. This almost twelve-ton sculpture is set on a solid foundation. It took over two hundred cubic meters of concrete to make it. In the manufacture of the pedestal, a very rare material was used - polished green granite (amazonite), mined in the Pamirs.

An unconventional horizontal shape was chosen for execution in Ryazan. When looking at this unusual composition, it begins to seem that Yesenin's figure literally grows out of native land... With a soulful face, he recites poetry. Thanks to the wide gesture of the hands, the unbuttoned collar of the shirt, it is possible to feel the subtlety of the human soul, which, with the help of its works, was able to convey to the descendants the charm of the surrounding nature, the beauty of words.

In the background of this composition, a special depression is made, where the trees that the poet loved so much: birch, mountain ash and maple sway from the light breeze.

The townspeople and guests of Ryazan like to arrange photo sessions on Yesenin's arms, whose span is eight meters, they are not afraid of the heights they have to climb for this. Daredevils gladly show a photo of the Yesenin monument in Ryazan to their relatives and friends, post it on pages in social networks.

They say that the poet himself asked not to install a sculpture for him in this city. Nevertheless, the Yesenin monument in Ryazan perfectly fit into the compositional construction of the embankment, and exactly a year later the author of this unusual composition, Alexander Pavlovich Kibalnikov, was awarded the Ilya Efimovich Repin State Prize of the RSFSR for this work.

    Bust of S. A. Yesenin

There is another composition in the city dedicated to the poet. The place of its installation is a city square along Lenin Street. Opposite is the Gorpark and the Regional Philharmonic. The opening date of the bust to S. Yesenin is October 1, 1995. This event was timed to coincide with the centenary of his birth. The bust was transferred from the Yesenin homeland - the village of Konstantinovo.

Formal suit and tie - such clothes were chosen by the authors of the work. Apparently, it was in this image that the poet appeared before his contemporaries and fans during his performances.

Each art worker has contributed to the development of culture. The huge legacy of Sergei Yesenin is still deeply studied from school. This name is known to anyone, even a person far from literature. And so that the memory of him does not lose its significance, monuments to Yesenin are being erected to this day.

Where can you see the stone poet?

Since the poet himself was very fond of Russia, he often wrote about his devotion to his native places, it is logical to assume that monuments were erected in his honor in many cities of our vast country. Plus, a pretty blue-eyed blonde is a target for any seasoned sculptor.

    • In Voronezh, on the street. Kardashov, there is a bust of the young poet on a pedestal. Funds for it were allocated by S. Bezrukov, known for his performance of the role of Yesenin.
    • In with. Konstantinovo, in the Yesenins' estate there are as many as three monuments: a full-length statue, a bust and a portrait monument with a place for laying flowers.
    • There is also a monument to Yesenin in the town of Spas-Klepiki, where the poet studied at school.
    • In St. Petersburg, where the poet's life was tragically cut short.
    • In Lipetsk.
    • In Oryol.
    • In Kaliningrad.
    • In Krasnodar.

And these are not all cities that have a three-dimensional image of a stately and talented "boy" on their territory.

    Monument to Yesenin in Moscow

The poet came to the capital after leaving school to study at the people's university. It is here that he meets the love of his life - Isadora Duncan. Despite the short period, the poet lived in Moscow for three years, he fell in love with this city. The cycle of works "Moscow tavern" is even dedicated to him.

The statue now stands on Tverskoy Boulevard. There, in the 20th century, there was a favorite place for Moscow art workers "Stall of the Pegasus", where Yesenin often visited. This address is symbolic, so the sculptor Anatoly Bichukov unconditionally chose it to install his work. Here he is depicted as good-natured, inspired. This is not your typical "naughty reveler" and not a country boy.

The monument was opened in 1995 for the centenary of Yesenin. On the poet's birthday, October 3, readings of Yesenin's poems are held next to the monument.

    And it's all?

In fact, there is more than one such attraction in Moscow. A monument to Yesenin was also erected on the boulevard of the same name in Kuzminki in 1972. Here he is depicted by V.E. Tsigal in the guise of an ordinary rural youth in a shirt. Shown from its simple side, facing the roots of the people.

Another, but more mournful one, was erected at the Vagankovsky cemetery, where Sergei Yesenin was buried after his suicide. Here he is depicted up to his chest, as if protruding from a block of stone, still as young and fresh as he lived and, unfortunately, died.

    Monument to Yesenin in Ryazan

It was in the Ryazan region that the future scandalous and deeply creeping poet was born. Therefore, on his 80th birthday in Ryazan, on the picturesque bank of the Trubezh River, an unusual monument was erected.

The sculptor A.P. Kibalnikov pursued the idea - to convey the breadth of Yesenin's soul and his love for his homeland. Therefore, the residents of the city were presented with a picture: the figure of the poet up to his chest, as if growing straight out of the ground, with wide arms and an open face. The statue is made of amazonite.

Yesenin, "embracing" the vastness, was installed right next to the Ryazan Kremlin, in places that were often sung in poems. Indeed, he seems to be reciting his lines at the moment when the sculptor captured him.

If there are great people, the memory of them should be preserved for generations. Not a single picture will convey the essence of a person in the same way as his monument is a three-dimensional, weighty image. The desire of sculptors from all over Russia and the CIS countries to create new memorials to the famous poet is explained by the fact that his personality is extraordinary and multifaceted. Therefore, there are great opportunities for the flight of fantasy. Monuments are being erected to Yesenin - a submissive hooligan, brawler and joker, a simple village guy and just a wonderful Russian poet.

The theme of the Motherland is the main theme in the work of Sergei A. Yesenin. Whatever he writes about, the image native land is invisibly present in his works. Even in his early youthful poems (in the collection "Radunitsa"), the author appears before us as an ardent patriot: If the holy army shouts: "Throw you Rus, live in paradise!" I will say: "No need for paradise, Give my Motherland." The feeling of the Motherland finds expression in his love for native nature... Sergei Yesenin is a singer of Russia, and in his poems, sincere and frank in Russian, we feel the beating of a restless and tender heart. They have a "Russian spirit" in them, they smell like Russia. It is, as it were, created specifically for poetry. The poet's sweeping, surprisingly Russian poems are full of heartfelt warmth and sincerity, passionate love for the boundless expanses of his native fields, the “inexhaustible sadness” of which he was able to convey so emotionally and so loudly.

For that time, the opening of the monument to Yesenin was akin to the destruction of all communist prohibitions at once. After all, first of all, the sculpture was made in a free form, and not in those accepted for that time, and secondly, that Yesenin was considered a somewhat free, and sometimes disgraced poet, therefore the installation of a monument to him caused a very violent reaction among the population. The figure of the young poet touches with its lyricism and sad thoughtfulness, the naturalness of the pose, devoid of formality and splendor. Standing almost on the ground, at the beginning of Yeseninsky Boulevard, against the background of young birches and aspens, the monument seems to us peculiar and a bright piece of art ". For reference: there is not a single inscription on the Yesenin monument on Yeseninsky Boulevard, i.e. neither the author of the work, nor to whom it is dedicated. For what reason this was done is not clear, but it can only be assumed that Yesenin's granddaughter managed to agree so, otherwise the monument would have been banned altogether. III. Sergei Yesenin is one of the most outstanding poets Silver Age... His works are included in the curriculum of all schools in our country today, and adults know and recall with pleasure on occasion. It is not surprising that such a great and talented writer has a lot of monuments all over the country. But among all the monuments there are special ones. One of them is a monument to Yesenin, erected on Tverskoy Boulevard in Moscow.

    History of creation

The sculpture was installed in 1995, to the centenary of the poet's birth. The monument to Yesenin was created by sculptor A. Bichukov and architect A.V. Klimochkin. The masters wanted to immortalize precisely the "simple guy from Ryazan", so the image of the writer is rather informal and simple. However, if we compare the resulting sculpture with the memoirs of the poet's contemporaries, it is not difficult to understand that the work was a success, and that is how Yesenin looked during his lifetime. The monument really turned out to be very sincere and lively, it is liked by residents of the capital and tourists. The poet looks both a little shy and a little brooding at the same time.

Monument to Yesenin: photo and description

The sculpture depicts the writer in full growth, installed on a pedestal. Behind the back of the writer there is a floral ornament, on which he rests with one hand. The monument to Yesenin in Moscow depicts the poet frozen in an informal pose. One leg is slightly bent at the knee, and the right arm is brought behind the back. The pose can be interpreted as an expression of shyness. If you look at the monument to Yesenin for a long time, it seems that the poet is about to come to life and move. The sculpture is so natural and relaxed. On the pedestal, in large letters, it is briefly written: "To Sergei Yesenin." The poet is dressed in simple trousers, a shirt and an unbuttoned jacket. An interesting detail: the top buttons of the shirt are unbuttoned, and there is no tie or neckerchief. This symbolizes the literary soul open to the people and also emphasizes his insecurity.

Where is the Yesenin monument in Moscow? It is easy to find it, since it is located in the very center of Tverskoy Boulevard, the exact address: house 19. is well-known enough, almost every resident of the capital will tell you the way to it.

    Choosing a location

The monument to Yesenin in Moscow was not accidentally erected on Tverskoy Boulevard. There are two versions of why they decided to put the sculpture right here. During his lifetime, Yesenin turned to the monument to A.S. Pushkin, installed nearby, in one of his poems. Mentioned in this work and the fact that it is about Tverskoy Boulevard (sculptures dedicated to Alexander Sergeevich, there are also a great many throughout our country and Moscow in particular).

The second version is more prosaic. During the years of the poet's life in the house number 37 on Tverskaya Street there was a cafe "Stable Pegasus". Many creative and public figures of that time gathered in this institution, Yesenin himself visited it. Today the cafe is practically forgotten, but the monument to the writer stands very close to the house in which it was located.

    Yesenin and Pegasus

Near the poet's sculpture, you can see a miniature statue depicting a winged horse - a pegasus. This mythical creature could appear next to a writer in honor of a cafe that worked nearby. The poet himself wrote about the fairy-tale horse: "... There are many of us, but not individuals, but masses ... Pegasus is mired in" Tselina ", faithful to his duty of honor ...".

The monument to Yesenin in Moscow on Tverskoy Boulevard is located in a small recreation area. The sculpture is surrounded by flower beds and tiled paths, as well as comfortable benches to relax. In the park you can stop for a rest, take beautiful photos. The monument to Yesenin and the surrounding square looks equally majestic at any time of the year. In our country there is a huge number of monuments to the great writer, but this one is one of the most spectacular and interesting. Be sure to visit it while walking around Moscow, this attraction deserves your attention. Seeing with your own eyes one of the most famous monuments to the talented poet will be interesting not only for fans of his work, but also for fans of sculpture and beautiful places in the city.
