    Along with the capital's large gardens and parks, the city also has lesser-known recreation areas that attract visitors with their beauty, tranquility, silence, and ecological cleanliness. One of these sights in Moscow is the Garden of the Future, which is also called Leonovsky Park.

    It is known that the history of the park dates back to the 18th century, from the moment of the foundation of the Leonovo estate. It was created as an ordinary home garden. The most famous owner of the estate was Vasily Khovansky, thanks to whom the park was founded.

    During the period of his estate ownership, Prince Khovansky invested heavily in landscaping the garden: he built beautiful ponds, erected extraordinary greenhouses, systematically replenished the park's collection of plants with rare species of tree and shrub seedlings, which were brought to him from Siberia. However, in 1825, a certain merchant Kozhevnikov, having become the owner of the estate, almost completely destroyed the park, and built a cloth factory in its place.

    To date, the estate itself has not survived. However, as a memory of the Leonov estate remained: an old linden alley, a three-hundred-year-old oak, a decorative pond, the Yauza river flowing through the park, and the Church of the Deposition of the Robe. The park's attractions and tranquility are enough to attract crowds of ecotourism lovers every day, everyone who loves solitude and silence.

    In 2003, during the Moscow International Exhibition "EXPO-Science-2003", Leonovsky Park was renamed into the "Garden of the Future". After reconstruction in 2007, the park got a new life: all paths and paths were put in full order on its territory, a number of new alleys - "Newborns" and "Newlyweds" were created, information stands were installed.

    The old linden alley is a wonderful place for walking. It is especially cozy and comfortable to walk here or just sit on a bench during the flowering trees, when everything around is filled with an incomparable aroma.

    Walking through the Garden of the Future, one cannot fail to notice an oak tree, which is surrounded by posts and a chain. This tree is one of the oldest oak trees in the entire city. It is believed that its age is at least 300 years, in connection with which the Leonov oak is included in the program for the protection of overgrown trees - "Oaks-Patriarchs".

    The Church of the Deposition of the Robe was erected on the site of a wooden church (known since 1633) in 1719-1722. According to legend, the construction of the temple is associated with the repentance of Prince Vasily Khovansky for his addiction to strong drinks and drunken violation of church rituals.

    From 1800 to 1859 by order of the industrialist Demidov, who was ill with mental disorders and could not stand any noise, the church was closed. In 1918, the church was transferred by representatives of the Soviet government for the use of parishioners. It is worth noting that during the entire existence of the Soviet regime, the church was never closed.

    Today, the church has a Sunday school, which can be attended by both children and adults. In addition, there is a library and a granite workshop on the territory of the temple, where tombstones are made.

    Also on the territory of the "Garden of the Future" there are a number of objects worthy of the attention of visitors: the Leonovsky pond, the Yauza river, a bridge over a ravine, a flower garden.

    Today, quite often the Leonovsky Park is visited by young married couples to take pictures and stroll along the newlyweds alley.

    For parents and their children on the territory of the Garden there is an alley of "Newborns".

    Clean and cozy, breathing with tranquility, the Garden of the Future is ideal for walking, for romantic dates, for a pleasant pastime with an interesting book in hand, or just for a friendly conversation.

    The park will create conditions for quality recreation, while preserving its historical value.

    In September, in the north-east of the capital, a new park "Garden of the Future" will open. It will appear on the site of a former noble estate.

    “In the northeast, by the Yauza River, one of the largest parks in our city is being created. So for ten years we have been consistently transforming the forgotten, abandoned territory around the Yauza into one of the best, comfortable, beautiful places in Moscow. We have already made about 70 hectares, this year we will make about 80 hectares, next year too ... And in general, this territory will total about a thousand hectares, "he noted during his visit to the park. According to him, the improvement will affect a large area up to VDNKh - this is 700 hectares along the river and another 300 - around Ostankino. About a million people live near these places.

    The Moscow Mayor added that, in addition to creating a park zone, work is underway to preserve the historical territory of the Leonovo estate: kids, for the elderly, for people who want to play sports. It is very important that it, of course, be safe, that the cameras are standing, that the lighting is there, so that you can walk both day and evening without fear, feel safe. "

    He stressed that landscaped areas should appear next to the houses of Muscovites. That is why so-called national parks are being created in the capital. This year, more will be added to their list in different districts of the city. “56 parks will be created within walking distance this year - the so-called people's parks, when, at the request of residents, they appear literally next to houses,” the Moscow Mayor said.

    The Garden of the Future is located near Rostokino near the metro station "Botanichesky Sad" between 1st street Leonova, Wilhelm Pieck Street and the Yauza river. Its main territory is located on the site of the former noble estate of Leonovo, which burned down at the beginning of the 20th century. To this day, a pond, the Church of the Deposition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, several paths, an alley of old lindens and a 300-year-old oak have survived from the manor complex.

    Leonovo was first mentioned in the charter of the Grand Duke Ivan III in 1504. In the 16th century, there was a wasteland, attributed to the palace settlement of Sviblovo. In 1626, the estate was granted to Prince Ivan Khovansky, who erected a wooden church of the Deposition of the Robe. In its place, in 1719-1722, the present stone church was erected.

    The estate remained the Khovanskys' fiefdom until 1767, when the scientist and philanthropist Pavel Demidov bought it. At the end of the 18th century, an extensive park with rare trees and plants was laid out in Leonov, and greenhouses appeared there.

    In the second half of the 19th century, active construction began in the village of Leonovo, the old park was built up with houses for rent. At the beginning of the last century, after the appearance of the Moscow District Railway, Leonovo became part of Moscow and remained a popular summer cottage until the mid-1950s. In the 1960s, Leonovo began to be massively built up, and the dilapidated buildings were demolished. However, the park remained intact. Moreover, it received the status of a cultural heritage site.

    The park owes its current name to the International Exhibition of Youth and Scientific and Technical Projects "EXPO-Science - 2003" VDNKh... In 2004, the territory was partially put in order. Paths were poured, information stands were installed, alleys were laid. Improvement then affected mainly the eastern part of the green zone.

    A new park with a rich history

    For some time no one looked after the "Garden of the Future". The paths and descent to the water were in poor condition, and the rest of the territory was simply overgrown. In 2016, the Moscow Government made a decision to improve the Garden of the Future. According to plans, it should turn into a modern park with a rich history. The total area of the complex improvement, which began in July 2017, is 21 hectares.

    An important part is the restoration of the Leonovo estate based on historical maps. For this, the following work is carried out:

    - reconstruction of the linden alley;

    - improvement of the main driveway of the estate;

    - arrangement of a regular garden with a playground and small architectural forms for various events;

    - recreation of a fragment of the lost linden alley (a step-by-step path, gradually turning into a lawn, will become a symbol of the passing past);

    - reconstruction of the historic parterre flower garden;

    - reconstruction of the ensemble from the front alley and secluded areas (on the site of the former front yard of the estate);

    - reconstruction of a parterre with a regular flower garden;

    - improvement of the walking area around the Leonovsky pond with walking paths, a bridge and stairs to the water;

    - arrangement of a fountain with pergolas on the square.

    Two pavilions will be installed in the park for relaxation and exercise, which will be connected by a common terrace, as well as an open pavilion with hanging cocoon chairs and a long landscape bench. All objects will be decorated with perennial flower beds, and a lawn with sun loungers will appear in the center between them.

    All in all, 21 pavilions are going to be built on the territory of the park, including four pergolas, a rotunda, a round terrace (cafe), a teahouse, shopping facilities, an inventory rental point, a security point, a coworking space and six toilets.

    Young visitors will be able to play in three playgrounds, and for lovers of active recreation they will arrange three sports zones with exercise equipment and a 1.9-kilometer bike path. You can relax on numerous benches and garden sofas.

    The paths will be tiled (21.2 thousand square meters). Also, the park will renovate a hundred-meter ecological path that leads through the ravine. The wooden flooring will be laid there.

    165 trees, 6429 shrubs will be planted in the Garden of the Future, 1,800 square meters of flower beds and 168,295 “squares” of lawns will be planted. In addition, 339 lighting poles and 62 video surveillance cameras will be installed. The work involved 317 people and 42 pieces of equipment.

    56 green areas

    This year, Moscow plans to improve 129 park areas (56 of them are new) with a total area of 1,667 hectares. The works affected the following objects:

    - Zaryadye park;

    - 21 city parks (five of them are new);

    - 15 natural areas;

    - 50 new parks at the place of residence;

    - 42 iconic objects (boulevards, squares, green areas popular with local residents).

    Thus, by the end of the year, 492 park and green areas will be put in order.

According to him, in addition to landscaping, a noble estate of the 18th century will also be recreated. The Moscow Mayor also spoke with local residents.

    Residents of the Rostokino district have long dreamed of such a large and, most importantly, well-groomed park. So that it was absolutely for everyone - from the elderly to the smallest. And so that there was all the best. The decision to restore this park after years of neglect was made by the Moscow authorities last year. Local residents and tourists can already assess the scale of the work, TV Center reports.

    A pond, a church and a path network are all that remains of the Leonovs' old estate, which burned down in the 20th century. Attempts to breathe life into this place have been made more than once. And only now it is clear that the park and its surroundings are changing before our eyes. For the sake of this, you can tolerate the noise from the construction site, a local resident told the mayor of Moscow.

    - Does the park bother you, the work that is being done now?

    - Do you mean builders? Well, of course, while they work, it's not very convenient. But here everything has changed so much, it has become better.

    - Well, thank you, health to you.

    Locals have no doubt that this place will soon become a center of attraction. In the summer on scooters and roller skates, in the winter on skis - for sports lovers, a two-kilometer jogging track and several workout areas will be laid.

    It is planned to restore the structure of the burnt-out manor according to historical maps. The once famous linden alley is being reconstructed. In addition, 3 playgrounds will be built. One is already ready. Two dozen pavilions, a rotunda, a cafe in the form of a round terrace, a tea house, and a coworking area will be built on the territory.

    Paved paths, parterre flower beds, cozy gazebos, as well as a coworking area and a children's stage - and all this in the middle of centuries-old linden alleys. This will be the updated "Garden of the Future" in a noble estate of the 18th century. Reconstruction of the park, which should become one of the main gifts to Muscovites for the City Day, is nearing completion.

    . . . . . The territory of the park will amount to about a thousand hectares, "Sergei Sobyanin said during a conversation with an initiative group of local residents.

    Improvement will affect the territory up to VDNKh, and in general, 56 new parks will be created in the capital.

    "The territory is large - next to VDNKh, Ostankino Park, on the other hand -" Sokolniki "... But we must not forget that next to the houses there should be its own landscaped territory, therefore, at the request of residents, we will make 56 national parks within walking distance this year ", - said Sergei Sobyanin.

    . . . . . To a greater extent, the improvement affected the eastern part of the park.

    In subsequent years "Garden of the Future" did not receive the necessary care. In 2016, the Moscow Government made a decision on the improvement of "Garden of the future" as a modern park with deep roots and traditions.

    . ... ... ... I hope that the samples of work that we are doing now, as it looks, it seems to me, the residents of Rostokino will like it, the residents of Sviblovo, which is also nearby, - said the mayor.

    During his inspection of the territory, Sergei Sobyanin also recalled that 56 new parks will be created in Moscow this year.

    . . . . . On the other side - " Sokolniki "... But this is still a territory somehow remote and from "Sokolnikov", and from VDNKh. . . . . .

    As reported in the materials of the press service of the mayor's office, in 2017 it is planned to put in order 129 park areas, of which 56 are new, created. ... ... ... ... ... The central element of the project was the restoration of the structure of the estate according to historical maps “ Leonovo "... Within the framework of the project, work was carried out on the reconstruction of the linden alley, the improvement of the main driveway of the estate and giving it the function of the main alley of the park, the improvement of the garden, the flower garden and the historical fountain.

    . . . . . All three objects are located in a circle and framed by perennial flower beds, in the center there is a lawn with sun loungers. . . . . .

    . . . . . Work here began in 2017, with a total area of 21 hectares.
    . . . . . However, in the park you can see a preserved pond, the Church of the Deposition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, paths and paths, and even a 300-year-old oak tree.
    . . . . . To a greater extent, the improvement work has affected the eastern part. Since in subsequent years the park was not seriously looked after, the paths and the descent to the water of the manor pond became dilapidated, and the rest of the space was simply overgrown.
    . . . . . The work has already covered about 70 hectares, and this year another 80 hectares will be done. Next year, the territory will amount to about a thousand hectares, "Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said at a meeting with an initiative group of local residents.
    Improvement of the park "Garden of the Future" in the Rostokino area is planned to be completed in the fall. The work will cover a vast territory stretching all the way to VDNKh. According to the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin, the Ostankino Park and the Park are located nearby. Sokolniki "... About a million people live in the vicinity of the green area. The mayor expressed confidence that the residents of Rostokin and Sviblov would like the results of the work carried out.
    This year, 56 new parks will be created in the capital, reminded Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. These will be the so-called people's parks, that is, green areas created at the request of the townspeople. In addition, 129 park areas will be put in order.
