    For every graduate, admission to a university is very important and exciting, since a young man not only says goodbye to the sometimes school childhood, but also prepares to enter an independent adult life. And this step means choosing a university, profession, your own standard of living. Therefore, it is not surprising that schoolchildren and their parents are following the changes related to the rules for admission to higher education institutions. Moreover, almost every year you can see additions in the procedure for submitting documents, the scoring system and the determination of quotas for budget places. Let's see what the rules for admission to universities will be in 2018-2019.

    Changes in the admissions campaign in 2018

    According to the orders of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the following innovations have been made to the admission rules:

    1. First of all, those children whose parents are in the service of the National Guard, and the employees of this type of troops themselves, will be enrolled.
    2. Since 2017, admission to training for residents of Crimea has been carried out on a general basis, no quotas for targeted admission of Crimeans are provided for next year.
    3. There are benefits for the winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Subject Olympiads.

    As in previous years, applicants can send their documents to no more than five higher education institutions. Moreover, in each of them, you can choose only three specialties for admission.

    Acceptance of documents to institutions of higher education is carried out in two stages:

    • firstly, those applicants are selected who will fill 80% of budget places;
    • the remaining places are filled in one direction or another.

    List of entrance exams

    The admission rules, which are published by each university, must contain a list of entrance tests that a graduate of a secondary educational institution must pass when entering a particular specialty of the university.

    Each specialty requires the provision of USE results in specific disciplines. This information can be seen on the official website of the institution of your choice.

    Please note that for similar specialties in different universities, it may be required to take completely different subjects. For example, if in one university for admission to the faculty of journalism, in addition to the compulsory Russian language, you are required to pass social studies and English, then in another - history and literature.

    Additional tests in universities

    Each university is obliged to take into account the results of the USE as an entrance exam. But some universities in certain specialties (usually creative) also require additional tests established by the institution itself.

    In Moscow, at the State University. MV Lomonosov, additional tests, in addition to the exam, are the norm.

    You may be offered a dance exam for the Choreographic Arts major or a drawing exam for Painting and Design. At the Faculty of Journalism, the applicant needs publications in the media.

    The purpose of such a creative exam is to identify the applicant's skills and abilities that are needed in order to master the profession of a journalist.

    Individual achievements

    Each graduate can use additional bonuses in addition to the USE - up to 10 points for various achievements. Such a right is given, for example:

    • medal;
    • victory in the olympiads;
    • golden TRP badge;
    • excellently written final essay and others.

    Each university has the right to set the number of points for a particular achievement itself, so be sure to check the information on the website of the university's admissions committee.

    In October, universities are to announce admission rules. Which they did. When can I come with an application to the admissions office? Will universities check the essay? How many points will be given for the certificate with honors?

    Acceptance of documents in 2018 will begin no later than June 20 and end on July 26. If the university has its own exams or creative tests, then earlier - until July 10. Applications, as before, are allowed to be submitted for three specialties in five universities. You can - by e-mail. The minimum points that you need to get on the exam in order to be eligible to enter universities have already been determined by Rosobrnadzor. In the Russian language, you need to get at least 36 points on the exam, in mathematics - 27. Leading universities raise this threshold. For example, at MGIMO, for many specialties, at least 70 points in Russian and foreign languages, 55 points in mathematics for "economics", "international economic relations" must be brought. If you pass the language exam at MGIMO with less than 60 points, you drop out of the competition.

    The HSE has specialties where the minimum threshold is almost three times higher than that approved by Rosobrnadzor. To apply for "mathematics" you must bring 75 USE points in this subject. On the "world economy" at least 70 points in a foreign language. And for one of the most prestigious programs of two degrees, by the way, paid, at least in language - 75.

    MSU, HSE will recheck them and take into account the essays. It is not necessary to provide a medical certificate to universities. But there are exceptions. The Moscow State University will ask to undergo a medical examination of those who go to "general medicine", "pharmacy", "pedagogy and psychology of deviant behavior."

    Starting this year, graduates have the opportunity to simultaneously obtain a diploma from Moscow State University and the joint university of Moscow State University and the Beijing Polytechnic Institute in Shenzhen. Admission is still open for three undergraduate programs - "Applied Mathematics and Informatics", "Chemistry, Physics and Mechanics of Materials" and "Economics".

    To apply for "mathematics" at the HSE, you must bring 75 points in this subject

    Tuition at the joint university is paid, but scholarships and compensation for housing will be paid to students.

    More and more universities are offering double degree programs and the opportunity to study abroad at a partner university. Such programs are available at ITMO, Far Eastern Federal University, Novosibirsk State University, Moscow State Medical University. Sechenov, St. Petersburg Polytechnic University named after Peter the Great.

    In 2018, the number of budget-funded places in economic and legal specialties will be reduced, since, according to the Ministry of Education and Science, no more than half of graduates find work by profession. But the number of places in engineering directions will be increased (they will be given up to 45 percent), 12 percent of places will be received by pedagogical faculties and teacher training universities and 5 percent - by medical universities.

    As a result, the bachelor's degree will receive 315 thousand budgetary places (including part-time), the specialty - 74 thousand places (with part-time), the magistracy - 207 thousand places.

    15 thousand budgetary places will be given to graduate students, 12 thousand - to residents.

    However, there have been no significant or fundamental changes in the so-called “Procedure for admission to universities”. For example, all the same special rights are retained for admission from the winners of the Olympiads, medalists. Other applicants will also receive additional points for some personal achievements in specialized areas (up to 10 points in total).

    Table of contents:

    Today, according to the rules, an applicant can apply simultaneously to several educational institutions (up to 5) and to several specialties / directions (up to 3) in each of them. Reception is carried out in two stages:

    Rules for admission to universities in 2018-2019

    For those who graduate from a secondary school in 2018, it will be useful to find out what changes have been made to the conditions for admission to Russian universities (2018-2019) for applicants according to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science.

    The changes affected:

    The procedure for admission to all forms of study by programs:

    • bachelor's degree;
    • specialty;
    • magistracy.

    List of entrance examinations for training programs:

    • bachelor's degree;
    • specialty.

    The changes made to one degree or another affected:

    The list of persons with the pre-emptive right to enrollment (for educational programs of bachelor's degree, specialist degree). Now it has been expanded and included in it (according to Federal Law No. 227 of 03.07.2016):

    • employees and servicemen of the FSV of the National Guard of the Russian Federation;
    • children of employees of the FSV of the National Guard of the Russian Federation.

    Special conditions for the admission of applicants for training, in connection with the adoption of the Republic of Crimea and the State Federal Reserve (federal city) of Sevastopol in the Russian Federation. However, there is no special quotation (which might interest the 2018 entrants). Crimeans and Sevastopol residents will go through a common competition for places with budget funding in universities. They come in the general stream this year, with a standard set of documents, at the same time as the rest of the applicants. And they pass the same (according to the approved list) entrance tests.

    Incentive for admission to universities for Crimeans

    Still, there is a benefit for residents of the Crimean Peninsula and the city of Sevastopol. Thanks to the changes made to the Procedure for admission to universities, in 2018, applicants from newly acquired Russian subjects can enter any of their chosen universities (only for undergraduate and specialty programs), and not only for allocated places, as it was in 2014-2016. ...
    For this, Crimeans and Sevastopol residents need to present to the admissions committees of higher educational institutions of Russia received in schools or colleges of the Republic of Crimea / g. Sevastopol certificates of secondary (general) education.

    As for enrollment, it will take place either according to the results of the USE in specialized subjects for a particular university and / or according to the results of additional tests established by an independent educational organization.

    Changes-2018 (2019) admission conditions for people with disabilities and people with disabilities

    The changes made are aimed at expanding the provision of the needs of the aforementioned persons.

    For example, the list of entrance examinations included a compulsory exam in mathematics for the direction "Intelligent systems in the humanities", as for the direction focused on the ICT sphere.

    The Ministry of Education and Science obliged organizations carrying out professional activities in the field of higher education to approve new rules for admitting applicants for bachelor's, specialist's and master's programs, taking into account the above changes.

    The updated admission rules, along with other information regarding admission to educational programs in 2019, should have been posted on the official websites of universities, as well as on electronic information boards and public access stands of admissions committees no later than 01.10. .2018
