    Eclipse of the sun and moon c. Great American Eclipse

    The fact of the existence of such a phenomenon as a solar or lunar eclipse excited the minds of many sages for more than three and a half thousand years, they began to observe this phenomenon from 1136 BC, when this phenomenon was first recorded. At first, it was noticed that there are more lunar eclipses than solar ones. The lunar ones happen only when the Moon enters the full moon phase, and the solar ones happen only at the moments of the complete absence of the Moon (new moon). A couple of thousand years after the first lunar eclipse recorded in the annals, astrologers learned how to compose schedule, and calculate the date of each of them, determined the nature of their phenomenon.

    Calendar of solar and lunar eclipses for 2017

    As you know, the planets move in an orbit, which for the Earth has a pronounced ellipse shape, somewhat inclined. Due to this angle of inclination of the plane of rotation of our planet relative to the plane of motion of the Moon, eclipses do not occur every month, but only from time to time. For this it is necessary that the Sun, Moon and Earth were on the same straight line.

    Solar eclipses in 2017

    During , we are lucky to witness two solar eclipses: total and annular. It is not difficult to guess what a total eclipse of the Sun is - this is a phenomenon in which the Moon completely covers the solar disk, and people who observe what is happening from the Earth will not see the Sun at all.

    The phenomenon of an annular solar eclipse is not much more complicated. During such an event, a certain rim will be visible from the Earth, which will remain from the Sun when it hides behind the lunar surface. An annular solar eclipse will occur February 26, 2017 we can see the total solar eclipse August 21, 2017(see calendar).

    Lunar eclipses in 2017

    Lunar eclipses occur only during full moons, in 2017 there will be two of them: penumbral and partial. To understand what it is, you should learn about what a shadow and penumbra are. These definitions are especially familiar to artists, who have to work with similar techniques in painting to create the illusion of volume on paper. In life, shade and penumbra are found everywhere. But this phenomenon acquires the largest scale in space. The moon casts its shadow on the Earth, around which there is a large circumference of penumbra - a shadow into which the sun's rays penetrate, making it transparent and weak.

    A penumbral lunar eclipse implies that during this phenomenon the Earth will not fall under the direct lunar shadow, but only in its penumbra, which is why the change in the brightness of the moon's illumination will not be fixed with the naked eye. A penumbral lunar eclipse will happen February 11, 2017. In the case when the Moon falls under the earth's shadow only partially, astrologers talk about a partial lunar eclipse. It will be possible to watch August 7, 2017(see calendar above).

    The effect of eclipses on humans

    In addition to the psychological impact, lunar and solar eclipses also affect the well-being of a person. During such phenomena, cases of hypertensive abnormalities are not uncommon, which causes headaches, heart palpitations and even bouts of irritability.

    Here is the eclipse calendar for 2018-2022. For each year there is a separate table, which indicates the date, Moscow time, type of solar or lunar eclipse, degree and sign of the zodiac in which the eclipse will take place, as well as regions where this phenomenon can be observed.

    Eclipses are not uncommon, they happen every year. Solar eclipse occurs on the new moon, when the moon comes between the sun and the earth, partially or completely blocking the sunlight.

    Moon eclipse occurs on a full moon when the earth is between the sun and the moon, and the earth casts a shadow on the moon.

    The influence of eclipses

    Solar eclipses affect physical health more, lunar eclipses affect emotions and mental state.

    For people who are sensitive, emotionally unstable, and those who have cardiovascular diseases, it is recommended to reduce business activity and relax more on days near eclipses.

    Also, eclipses have a greater effect on those people in whose horoscopes important points are affected by an eclipse.

    Total lunar eclipse January 31, 2018. Visibility on the territory of the former USSR *

    Lunar eclipse January 31 in one form or another could be observed throughout the territory of the former USSR. Fully all its phases were visible in the eastern and central parts of the Russian Federation - in the Far East and almost in the entire Siberian Federal District. For observers in these regions, in order to find out the maximum phase of a total lunar eclipse, it is enough to replace Moscow time in the table with the time of their time zone. So in Khabarovsk and Vladivostok the culmination of the eclipse took place at 23:30, the beginning of the partial eclipse at 21:48, and the beginning of the total eclipse at 22:50. Below is the time beginning of private phase, beginning of total lunar eclipse when the moon goes completely into the shadow of the earth and maximum eclipse phase in major cities in the region.

    • Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky: 23:48-00:52-01:30;
    • Magadan, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk: 22:48-23:52-00:30;
    • Birobidzhan, Vladivostok, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Nakhodka, Ussuriysk, Khabarovsk: 21:48-22:52-23:30;
    • Blagoveshchensk, Chita, Yakutsk: 20:48-21:52-22:30;

    • Khanty-Mansiysk: 16:48-17:52-18:30;

    To the west it was impossible to fully observe the beginning of the eclipse - its partial phase before the total eclipse, since in these regions the Moon had not yet had time to rise by the beginning of the eclipse. And the farther to the southwest, the greater part of the eclipse is hidden from the eye of the observer under the horizon line. For this group of settlements, we indicated the start time of the total eclipse, its largest phase, and the end time with the transition to a partial eclipse, when the Moon looks out of the shadow.

    • Almaty, Astana, Karaganda ( Kazakhstan), Bishkek, Osh ( Kyrgyzstan): 18:52-19:30-20:08;
    • Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Tagil, Perm, Ufa, Chelyabinsk; Dushanbe ( Tajikistan- the whole territory), Tashkent, Samarkand, Andijan ( Uzbekistan): 17:52-18:30-19:08;
    • Arkhangelsk, Murmansk: 15:52-16:30-17:08;

    Even further to the west there is a band in which a total lunar eclipse is visible, i.e. the disk of the moon is completely closed, but the beginning of the full phase cannot be observed and the moon is at the very horizon line. During the eclipse, the Moon rises higher and the visibility of the final phases of the eclipse is better. In brackets after the name of the city, the time of moonrise is indicated, and at the end of each group of cities in different time zones, the end of the full phase.

    • Orenburg (18:01): 19:08;
    • Astrakhan(17:48), Samara (17:17), Saratov (17:40), Togliatti (17:18), Ulyanovsk (17:20), Baku (17:56, Azerbaijan): 18:08;
    • Moscow(16:59), Volgograd (16:56), Vologda (16:32), Nizhny Novgorod (16:29): 17:08;

    And finally, the area where the eclipse is only visible as a partial eclipse at moonrise. In parentheses after the name of the settlement is the time of sunrise according to local time.

    • Velikiy Novgorod(17:12), Krasnodar (17:30), Rostov-on-Don (17:21), Pskov (17:28), St. Petersburg(17:08). In Kaliningrad, the eclipse is visible only as a partial penumbra - after moonrise at 17:16 local time - Russia;
    • Kyiv(16:49), Dnipro (16:36), Donetsk (17:26), Zhytomyr (16:58), Zaporozhye (16:38), Nikolaev (16:54), Odessa (17:01), Kharkiv ( 16:27), in Lviv, in Ivano-Frankivsk, Lutsk, Ternopil and Uzhgorod the eclipse is visible only as a partial penumbral - Ukraine;

    Total lunar eclipse January 21, 2019. Visibility on the territory of the former USSR **

    This eclipse is the only total lunar eclipse in 2019. It is noteworthy that it takes place during the so-called. supermoon - when the full (or new) moon in its elliptical motion around the earth is at the point closest to it. In addition, the "supermoon" during the eclipse became "bloody" - when passing through the penumbra of the Earth, the lunar disk acquired a brownish tint. In Europe, however, it is very difficult to observe the eclipse, since the Moon was located low above the horizon, and the further east, the lower.

    Annular solar eclipse on December 26, 2019. Visibility on the territory of the former USSR ****

    Annular solar eclipse on December 26 as private in Russia it will be possible to observe in some southern regions and in Primorye. However, the eclipse phase will not be very large. On the territory of the former USSR, the best visibility will be in Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. But if you are an enterprising person, then this eclipse makes it possible to observe an “almost total” solar eclipse quite easily, since the maximum corridor also passes through the territory of the United Arab Emirates. It is likely that it will not be difficult to get out into the desert from Abu Dhabi for such a spectacle.
    Below is the local time the beginning of the eclipse, maximum phase and end of eclipse in major cities. At the end, the value of the maximum phase of the eclipse, expressed as a percentage, is highlighted in green. The higher the percentage, the more the Moon covers the disk of the Sun.

    Penumbral lunar eclipse January 10-11, 2020. Visibility on the territory of the former USSR *

    All phases of the eclipse can be observed throughout the former USSR and almost all of Europe. The eclipse will begin at 20:08 Moscow time, reach its maximum phase at 10:02, and end after midnight at 0:12 on January 11. To determine the time of the eclipse for your place of residence, you must take into account the difference with Moscow time. So, for example, in Vladivostok, the maximum eclipse will take place on January 11 at 5:10 am local time.

    In 2017, the inhabitants of the planet Earth expects two solar eclipses. Moreover, one of them (solar eclipse) will be total, which means it will be especially significant. The second solar eclipse will be annular (annular).

    A total eclipse of the Sun is a phenomenon in which the Moon completely covers the solar disk, and people watching from the Earth over what is happening, the Sun will not be visible at all.

    The phenomenon of an annular solar eclipse is not much more complicated. During such an event, a certain rim will be visible from the Earth, which will remain from the Sun when it hides behind the lunar surface.

    An annular solar eclipse will occur on February 26, 2017, and a total solar eclipse will be visible to earth on August 21, 2017.

    In addition to solar eclipses, the inhabitants of the Earth will also be able to see lunar eclipses. Lunar eclipses occur only during full moons, in 2017 there will be two of them: penumbral and partial.

    A penumbral lunar eclipse implies that during this phenomenon the Earth will not fall under the direct lunar shadow, but only in its penumbra, which is why the change in the brightness of the moon's illumination will not be fixed with the naked eye. A penumbral lunar eclipse will occur on February 11, 2017.

    In the case when the Moon only partially falls under the Earth's shadow, astronomers speak of a partial lunar eclipse. You can watch it on August 7, 2017.

    The influence of eclipses

    Eclipses have always had a special and important sacred meaning, especially in astrology. In ancient times, they saw an evil omen, believed that they cause negative events and phenomena, such as war, famine or natural disasters. The phenomenon of a total solar eclipse was considered especially significant and even dangerous.

    In our time, eclipses are not perceived as apocalyptic. However, the days of eclipses, both solar and lunar, are always special.

    Astrologically, eclipses signal the beginning or end of a developmental cycle in life, which can have both a positive and a negative impact.

    Modern astrologers believe that eclipses and the events taking place these days show the direction of personal growth and where we are given opportunities. As a rule, their influence brings changes associated with the beginnings or completion of something in your life. At the same time, total eclipses, as a rule, are always associated with influences that are of a fateful nature.

    It is important to note that if something important begins on the days of a solar eclipse, then on the days of the lunar one something is destroyed. For example, if there is a desire to drastically change your lifestyle or break off any relationship, then it is best to do this at the time of a lunar eclipse.

    Any of us can feel inexplicable anxiety and concern during the days of eclipses. There is a possibility of making wrong decisions due to irritability and absent-mindedness.

    On eclipse days, it becomes more difficult to understand what is good and what is bad. It is not clear what suits or does not suit us. Often during this period we are easier to succumb to bad influence, we want to break and destroy everything. That is why it is worth refraining from serious decisions on the days when eclipses occur. New business should also not be started at this time.

    Eclipses can cause sudden changes in business, relationships, and more. If we talk about the impact of eclipses on the personal life and fate of a particular person, then for some earthlings, unexpected accidents, divorces, losses and other negative events become more likely.

    It is necessary to be very careful and attentive during an eclipse. It is advisable to avoid travel.

    Astrologers recommend not to plan new business for this period, not to conclude serious agreements and contracts, not to make large purchases. It is better to refuse planned medical surgical operations. It is recommended to spend this time in prayers, reading books, immersing yourself in your inner world.

    It must be remembered that everything that happens on days that are close to the date of the eclipse (plus or minus three days from the date of the eclipse) can be fatal.

    Also, any eclipses, especially solar eclipses, affect the body and physical well-being of a person, and this influence begins to appear two weeks before and 2 weeks after this event (for lunar eclipses, the effect is felt in “plus or minus two or three days”). This is especially felt by the elderly, people with cardiovascular diseases and problems with the nervous system.

    During a solar eclipse, the risk of cardiovascular diseases increases, since the Sun controls the heart.

    In particular, studies by medical scientists have shown that the human body begins to respond to a solar eclipse as soon as the solar disk is closed by the Moon: an hour after the start of the eclipse, blood pressure rises in hypertensive patients, blood vessels constrict, and the heart increases the power of blood ejection; blood begins to flow unevenly to different hemispheres of the brain.

    A solar eclipse polarizes health problems. The reason is that according to Eastern medicine, the Sun sends us a positive charge or Yang energy, and the Moon - Yin - takes energy. The Chinese believe that the day of a solar eclipse is a temporary victory of the feminine Yin over the masculine Yang. To avoid feeling unwell, on this day you should take a contrast shower and avoid active actions.

    At the same time, the effects that the luminaries have on us are at the same time healing. They create a load on the body and in this way they train it. If you are relatively healthy, then during this period you may feel only slight dizziness or increased fatigue, nothing more. The body these days gathers strength and is activated.

    By the way, people born on the day of the eclipse and the days before and after this event, according to astrologers, are extraordinary personalities and it is difficult for them to change something in their destiny, because. in their lives, as a rule, fatal, predetermined circumstances and situations play a large role. Many of them become well-known scientists, researchers and people of creative professions.

    The eclipse will be able to be observed by residents of most of the territory of Russia (with the exception of the eastern regions), and its maximum penumbral phase will be 1.014 when the Moon passes through the southern part of the earth's penumbra.

    With this phase, the Moon will almost touch the Earth's shadow (the maximum shadow phase will be -0.03), so the eclipse will be well observed even with the naked eye.

    According to astrology and Feng Shui, during eclipses, the flow of energy of one or another luminary is partially or completely blocked. In the case of a lunar eclipse, this is the Moon, but it will not be completely eclipsed, that is, the eclipse will be penumbral.

    Since the night luminary is responsible for the soul, subconsciousness, humanity and intuition, then, accordingly, these characteristics will partially suffer.

    The moon is the personification of a woman - a symbol of calmness, kindness, caring and endurance. That is why during this period it is difficult for many to keep emotions in themselves, to remain calm and restraint in conflict situations and to make correct and reasonable decisions. In all your actions, it is emotions, and not cold reason, that will have a huge influence. Therefore, as you understand, it is undesirable to change your life during this period, to decide something and carry out major agreements and transactions.

    It is during this period that many will awaken the desire to achieve justice, which will be devoid of any mercy and soul. If you do not restrain such impulses, then nothing good can be achieved. It must be remembered that for each situation it is necessary to look for an individual approach and do not forget sometimes to give free rein to your spiritual impulses.

    The band of the annular phase will pass through the waters of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, as well as through the territory of southern South America and southern Africa. The duration of the annular phase at the maximum of the phenomenon will reach only 44 seconds at a phase of 0.992. In this case, the thinnest ring of this eclipse will be observed.

    An annular solar eclipse will be well observed in the southern parts of Chile and Argentina, Angola, in the southwest of Katanga province.

    Partial phases of the eclipse will be visible in South and West Africa, southern South America and Antarctica.

    The sun is a symbol of masculine qualities - the struggle for justice, perseverance, intelligence, willpower and assertiveness. And therefore, many of us will be subject to a certain melancholy and breakdown.

    Our inner strengths will come to naught, and anxiety will come in their place, and some fears may even come to mind. Well, during this period, each of us will have to make a lot of efforts so as not to get out of the rut and not lose our ability to work. Astrologers also do not advise bold decisions to be put into practice, this can lead to irreversible consequences that will only bring losses and troubles. Therefore, we must try to avoid sudden changes in life.

    But those good intentions that you may have, try to implement, but do not overdo it. During Solar Eclipses, there is often a desire to change the world for the better, but remember that such changes must begin with yourself. Do a good deed, help someone in need - this will give you a boost of good energy and can drive away melancholy.

    This eclipse will be observed almost throughout Russia and the CIS countries (with the exception of the northernmost and easternmost regions of the country), and its maximum phase will reach 0.25.

    The Earth's natural satellite will pass through the northern part of the Earth's shadow during this eclipse. From the Moon at this time there is a partial and total solar eclipse.

    This time you will have to put in a lot of effort to save what you have been working on for a while. For example, if you decide to start playing sports, then these days your enthusiasm will fade a little. Well, do not stop halfway, remember that the path to success can be thorny and you need to work hard to achieve what you want. The period of the Lunar eclipse is a time when it is difficult to restrain your negative emotions. If you fall for such bad tricks of the night luminary, then when this period passes, you will have to work hard to restore your reputation.

    Lunar eclipses are the period when all the secrets come out. It is extremely difficult to keep something secret at this time. Moreover, relatives and friends will react sharply to the fact that something is being hidden from them. Therefore, it is better to open all the cards even before the eclipse, when each of you will be calm and cool.

    This total eclipse will occur at the new moon on August 21, and the total phase will pass through the waters of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, crossing the North American continent from west to east. The maximum duration of the complete phase will reach 2 minutes 40 seconds at phase 1.03. The best way to see the total phase of the eclipse will be in the United States. Partial phases of the eclipse will be visible in North America, as well as parts of Western Europe and South America.

    This total solar eclipse of 145 saros is a saros repetition of the total solar eclipse of August 11, 1999. The next eclipse of this saros will occur on September 2, 2035.

    Best of all, the eclipse will be observed in the city of Carbondale (USA). By the way, this settlement will become a unique place where 2 total solar eclipses will be observed within 7 years - in 2017 and 2024.

    Also, the eclipse will be well observed in North American cities: Salem (Oregon), Idaho Falls, Casper (Wyoming), Grand Island (Nebraska), Nashville and Columbia (South Carolina).

    In most of Russia, this eclipse will not be visible. Partial phases will be observed only in the extreme northeast of the country and on the Chukchi Peninsula. The maximum visible phase of the eclipse - approximately 0.4 - will be observed in the cities of Anadyr, Provideniya and Beringovsky.

    Solar and lunar eclipses are one of the most extraordinary phenomena of our Earth. Almost everyone watches it, but, unfortunately, it is quite rare, which is why it is so unique. A total solar eclipse generally happens only in one single place on the globe. This phenomenon is of interest not only to ordinary people and ordinary observers, but also scientists and astronomers. Where one can see one of the wonders of the Earth will be described below.

    Date, time and location of the 2017 solar eclipse

    Since an eclipse is an incredibly rare and extraordinary sight, it makes a splash in the world of astronomy. Like ordinary viewers, it is hunted by many people who understand the amazing properties of changing lighting for those few elusive minutes. Catch them and the truth is not an easy task, as you need to calculate the exact time when the sun hides behind the moon in order to see a truly beautiful view.

    Every year this phenomenon wanders around different countries, points of the globe, so not everyone can see it, but any lucky person who has managed to enrich himself with this knowledge can say with confidence how beautiful the eclipse is.

    A solar eclipse will delight us with its presence in the United States and this will happen on August 21st. This phenomenon has long been called the Great American Eclipse. According to scientists, about two hundred million American residents, from South Carolina to Oregon, will be able to enjoy the beautiful view. In fact, only America will be able to see a total solar eclipse.

    Full preparations are already underway for this grand event, all cities and even small towns will have to receive a huge number of tourists and everyone who wants to look at the eclipse. The authorities are concerned about the lack of places, but they assure that they will be able to fully ensure the comfort of observing such a beautiful phenomenon. Some cities plan to organize a holiday for several days in honor of such an event.

    Where and how long will the eclipse last in 2017

    • Salem, Oregon. The duration of the eclipse will be 1 minute 55 seconds. The exact start time is indicated at 17:18.
    • Idaho Falls. The duration of the eclipse will be 1 minute 41 seconds. The exact start time is indicated at 17:33.
    • Casper, Wyoming. The duration of the eclipse will be 2 minutes 25 seconds. The exact start time is indicated at 17:43.
    • Grand Island, Nebraska. The duration of the eclipse will be 2 minutes 34 seconds. The exact start time is indicated at 17:59.
    • Carbondale. The duration of the eclipse will be 2 minutes 38 seconds. The exact start time is indicated at 18:21.
    • Nashville. The duration of the eclipse will be 2 minutes 00 seconds. The exact start time is indicated at 18:28.
    • Columbia, South Carolina. The duration of the eclipse will be 2 minutes 30 seconds. The exact start time is indicated at 18:43.

    The dates of the solar eclipses in 2017 will be different and should be remembered in order to be able to enjoy their beauty.

    It should be noted that in the city of Carbondale there will be two such total solar eclipses. The first, respectively, in 2017 on August 21, the second - after 7 years in 2024.

    Where to see the solar eclipse in 2017 in Russia?

    But Russia will be a little less lucky. There, the solar eclipse will be noticeable only in part of the Chukotka Peninsula and the north-east of the country. Places in Russia where you can see the eclipse:

    1. Beringovsky. The eclipse will start at 16:31 and end at 18:03.
    2. Providence. The eclipse will enter into force at 16:31, will decline at 18:03.
    3. Anadyr. The phenomenon can be seen from 16:35 to 18:04.

    The solar eclipse in 2017 in Russia will delight us with its presence in the sky also on August 21. According to the account, it will be the twenty-second such phenomenon of 145 Saros. Those who live in the subtropics, as well as at mid-latitudes in the northern hemisphere, will be the most lucky. This beauty will continue for a full 2 minutes and forty seconds, the "zenith" of the eclipse will be at 37 degrees north latitude and 87.7 degrees west longitude. The shadow of the satellite will cover the globe for as much as 115 kilometers.

    An eclipse is a phenomenon when the light of one celestial body is blocked by another body. Usually an eclipse occurs when the Moon passes a straight line drawn by the Sun to the Earth. It blocks for some period the light coming from the Sun, thereby hiding it from our eyes. Thus, due to the small size of the Moon in front of the Sun, we cannot see it, so to us it will only look like a huge dark ball in the sky. Where the shadow from this “object” falls, there will be a place of a total solar eclipse.

    It may surprise many that such a small Moon covers such a large Sun. The answer is simple to impossibility: it's all about distance. The Moon is much closer to the Earth than the Sun, thus creating the effect of a large celestial body capable of completely blocking the light from a large yellow star.

    In addition to the usual total eclipse, another truly beautiful phenomenon awaits us - an annular solar eclipse. It will take place in the winter of the coming year, February 26. It will be considered as the 29th eclipse of the 140th Saros. This phenomenon occurs when the cone-shaped shadow from the Moon is able to cross the earth's surface, and the Moon itself is at this moment very far from the Earth, which makes it difficult to completely stop the sunlight. The phenomenon itself is striking and requires your attention.

    In addition to the two eclipses described above, there are also so-called private eclipses. This happens when the lunar shadow cone practically crosses the surface of the Earth without touching it.

    Lunar eclipse 2017

    In 2017, the lunar eclipse will begin closer to mid-February, or rather on the 11th. According to scientists, it will be penumbral. The eclipse phase will reach its maximum on the night of February 10-11, at 03:45 Moscow time. The lunar eclipse can be seen from all points of Russia, with the exception of a few locations. The phenomenon will not be visible in the Far East, the island of Sakhalin, the Kuriles. Chukotka and Kamchatka will not be able to admire the spectacle either. In addition to Russia, the eclipse will be visible in two parts of America (northern and southern), in Africa, throughout Europe, and also in Asia. The eclipse will bypass the Pacific coast and all of Japan.

    In the summer, on August 7, there will be a partial eclipse. Its maximum falls at 21:20 Moscow time. It will be possible to enjoy the spectacle all over the world, with the exception of America.

    The Super Moon can be seen in both full and new moons. At this moment, the Moon is closest to the Earth. With a full moon, such a moon can be seen much better, which is not surprising, because it is increased by 7%, and its brightness is more powerful by 15%. If at this moment to photograph such a spectacle, then the photos will come out amazing. For those who are fond of photography and love such phenomena, the following information:

    December 2017, 3: time - 18:46 - full moon in Moscow. The distance to the Moon will be calculated at 357 thousand 949 kilometers. The moon will rise in the Russian capital at about 16:28, and at exactly 16:00 the sunset will take place. Twilight will last until 16:46.

    The full moon will "hang" over the Earth for three days.

    How does an eclipse affect us?

    Any eclipse, both solar and lunar, by its effect is similar to a foggy haze. A special blow falls on the mental health of a person. His emotional state changes, and not for the better. It is akin to mild depression - you do not know what to do and how to organize your thoughts. Therefore, scientists advise not to take on something new, as you will not be able to bring the matter to its logical conclusion.

    A special solar eclipse awaits today, August 21, 2017, the whole world! All experts are already preparing to study the impact of this event on our Earth and in general on all celestial bodies as much as possible. NASA said that it will be very strong and may even lead to navigation failure around the world. Therefore, we advise you to prepare yourself.

    When and what time will the solar eclipse in 2017

    Today's phenomenon has already been called the "Great American Eclipse". For the first time in history, the Moon will not only completely cover the Sun, but its shadow will travel across the entire territory of the United States.

    In Russia, the eclipse will be visible only in the extreme northeast (Chukotka (06:26, 08/22/17), Kamchatka (06:26, 08/22/17) and the islands of the Arctic Ocean). Fully the Moon will close our Luminary at 21:26 (Moscow time)

    NASA experts are confident that today's "Black Monday" in the US will help them conduct long-awaited experiments, as well as unravel many mysteries of the Sun.

    Residents of Russia will be able to observe the phenomenon only if they live in Chukotka. And that is not its complete phase. But, fortunately, the 21st century is in the yard, and everyone will be able to look at the total solar eclipse on the Internet. For example, we propose to do this on our website - we will conduct a video broadcast. Broadcast starts at 19:00. by Moscow time. The maximum phase can be seen at 21.26 Moscow time. And the end of the eclipse is at 23.02. Moscow time

    Solar eclipse August 21, 2017: live online broadcast

    For example, they will finally be able to unravel the mystery of the solar corona, which worries mankind for a long time. It is most visible when the Moon covers the Sun, so this is the best time to explore. Also today, scientists will work on the mystery of the solar wind, the impact on the ionosphere, as well as on celestial bodies that are not far from the Sun.

    The maximum duration of the eclipse will be 2.4 minutes. At this time, the width of the moon's shadow on the earth's surface will be 115 km!

    The eclipse will last 1 hour and 33 minutes.

    The National Aerospace Agency of the United States plans to conduct a video broadcast so that all the inhabitants of the Earth can observe the phenomenon online. NASA uses 11 spacecraft, three aircraft and 50 balloons to broadcast online.
